She and Brendan are really cool, down-to-earth people, and their kids are SUPER sweet and hilarious. (If the kids take to you, they will call you “auntie” or “uncle” and draw you pictures and tell stories to endear themselves to you.) I think Steph and Brendan’s standards for choosing long-term housemates are pretty high; everyone I’ve met there seems like a decent, friendly person (no weirdos). Despite several people living there, it’s not a party house – everyone is pretty respectful of everyone else. And if there’s any issue about the house or housemates, Stephanie and Brendan handle it damn quick because they don’t take any BS. The house itself is awesome: big, clean, cool, lots of light and circulating air (thanks to lots of fans and open doors), big kitchen with modern appliances, welcoming dining area, safe neighborhood. I’ve stayed in the “in law” room that they’re advertising now, and it’s definitely private enough for you to hang out in if you don’t want to socialize. Not only is it a great place for you to stay – at their house, you will be comfortable eating, socializing, kicking back with a beer, getting ‘local’ recommendations from Steph, Brendan, and other housemates, and in general staying away from the tourist traps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ”
