  • My friends and I enjoyed the stay tremendously. It is a beautiful serene place to return to after a hectic day in Sao Paulo. The hostess was wonderful and very hospitable. I can truly recommend this special place to all.

  • great place, between the historical and the new center of Sao Paulo. Poorly soundproofed but surprising and lovely house. Jussara and her husband are really, really cool, nice, helpful... We'll certainly come back !

  • Jussara and Bamba were really hospitable and are very knowledgeable in the Arts and Culture of the neighborhood and their own fields of career. We became really close towards the end of the stay. And the place is just too charming that can be a destination itself.

  • Staying with Jussara and Bamba was the best. This space is very conveniently located, next to Rua Augusta and the Republica metro station stop. You will have no problems getting around, and don't have to worry about safety when coming back late, I mean come on its next to an elementary school!!! Sao Paulo is a great city to be in, and this is the place to be. They are great hosts, gave us information about things to do in the city, and the room is very nice. I wouldn't pay the same price for a crappy hostel, Alugar aqui!!!!

  • When you arrive in a city the size of Sao Paulo, you don't often expect a personal experience. The vast anonymity of a city this size is overrwhelming. And then you arrive at Jussara's place. An oasis of cool in the chaos that is SP. Warm and friendly hosts that make you feel as though you've known them for years. My extra special experience was that we knew a lot of the same people which brings new meaning to the phrase "small world". I had previously visited the bars/restaurtants on the opposite side of Praca Roosevelt, so it was also wild to have found Jussara's place and discover that the location was a familiar one. Despite my rushing around with work, I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Jussara and Bomba. I really felt like I came "home" from work. The house is fantastic and unique and the street is cool. I love the edginess of the neighbourhood. Their dog is a "talkative" fellow but I soon learned that he was a doorbell. When I got picked up each morning, he alerted me to the fact that someone was outside waiting for me. All in all this is the kind of airbnb experience that probably was the seed behind the whole airbnb concept. I am acutely aware that I'll probably never find an airbnb experience like this again, but then I'll just have to return to Sao Paulo.

  • Second time if have been to the pleasant house of Jussara. Always nice, it feels like a relaxed oasis in a city always full of electric energy. Very good location for heading towards all your sightseeing / going out.

  • São Paulo can be a bit daunting at first sight but with the help of a local and by being in a central location it’s in fact not that difficult to get to grips with. This property offers both those things: the location, a 5 minute walk away from the República metro station and right next to the nightlife of the trendy Rua Augusta, is perfect, and the owners, Jussara and Bamba, are very relaxed, welcoming and willing to offer all sorts of tips and guidance. The house feels like an oasis of calm amid the bustling city. The wooden floors and stairs are very homely and Jussara’s art and decorations give a real character to the place. Out the back, by the shared bathroom, there is a small garden space – a rarity in a city like SP. The bedrooms (one single, one double) are simple but adequate, the wi-fi works well, and the small but light kitchen is a pleasant place to prepare a simple breakfast (maybe with fruit freshly bought from the street-market right outside the front door on a Sunday morning). Directions on arriving at Metro República: with the square of Praça República at your back, head along Avenida Ipiranga until it meets Rua Consolacão, where you make a slight right (basically you are continuing straight ahead). After 1-2 minutes you will see on your left hand side the church of Consolacão; cross over the road to the church, continue straight ahead and you will cross a bridge over a busy 4-lane highway. Immediately at the end of this bridge, on your left, is the beginning of Rua João Guimaraes Rosa. Jussara’s house is about 150m up this street, just after a motel and immediately before the entrance to a school. You will probably be met by the barking of Garo, who is a real sweetie and loves company. This is a real home and a great base for exploring everything that “Sampa” has to offer. Highly recommended.

  • Super friendly people and great hosts, nice location of the house, Jussara helped a lot, we had a nice chat at the italian bistro, house located in the heart of Sao Paulo, walking distance to evertything- Paulista, Republica plaza etc.

  • Jussara and Bamba were wonderful hosts and very welcoming for someone new to Sao Paulo. I loved learning about their interesting neoghborhood, theatre, and traditional dishes from them. Not to mention a market outside your door on Sundays.

  • Staying at Jussara's house is like living a moment of Sao Paulo's rich History... houses like this one became extremely rare in the centre of a megalopolis that could not stop growing... It was simply but wisely restored to make it a unique place. This house and its garden are an oasis of calm in one of the most amazing city in South America in terms of architecture, culture and nightlife. It is also the perfect place for people who goes to Sao Paulo for work or studies... Well located in the centre, everything is close by walking distance, bus or metro... especially Avenida Paulista, the undergroud scene of Augusta street, the alternative theatres of Praça Roosevelt, Jardins, etc... On Sundays, there is a very nice farmers' market close by the house that worth to be discovered! I didn't had the pleasure to meet Jussara and Bamba because they were out of town when my friends and I stay at their place, but we shared the house with Jussara's friend (a very cool guy) and she made everything possible so we can be welcomed as if she was there and we stayed in touch through (website hidden) when needed. Garo, the house dog, is the kind of pet I would like to have... sweet to the point I could not resist bringing him for a walk in the city. For those who want to have a unique perspective on SP, I strongly recommend Jussara's house!
