  The place is just as advertised! Very awesome location for a visit to Seattle. Walking distance to Pike's place, the Capitol area, and the main shopping area - super convenient! It was great for us! Steve was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. I highly recommend it if you are trying to save some money but not want to sacrifice location. If you require a super posh place with white linens and fluffy down pillows, then it might not be for you.

  The Virginian and Steve were both great on my recent stay in Seattle! We were looking for something affordable with a great location, and that is exactly what we found. I love where The Virginian was located - right downtown Seattle, only 3 blocks away from Pike Place Market and all of the restaurants. Steve was great in letting us drop our bags off early so we could go explore the city without carrying around luggage. It was a great experience. Thanks!

  Great place to stay for a few days while in Seattle. Close to everything you want to see (Pike Place, close to Capitol Hill, etc.), and Steve was very hospitable. The next time I'm in Seattle I will be staying here.

  Convenient location, walking distance to everything in down town Seattle. Internet connection and cable tv were a bonus. Hot water was a bit sporadic.

  The girls and I had a great stay in this apartment :) It's a great location right in the middle of downtown. The hotel room is what you would expect for the price you pay.

  As many others have written, this space can't be beat for location and price. It was very convenient for us during our stay - close to lots of places we visited and to public transportation. Steve met us when we arrived, responded to our questions and requests, and was great about communicating. We echo other reviewers' comments about the shower water pressure/temperature and beds - not 5-star quality, but we didn't pay 5-star prices. Since we spent little time in the room, it served our purposes at a verrrry reasonable price for downtown Seattle.

  We had a great stay at the Virginian. It is an interesting, funky building with lots of charm. It was such a great option with a little grocery store on the corner and small kitchen to cook. Close to everywhere we wanted to go; The Paramount, Pike Street, restaurants.

  The apartment was in a GREAT location. It was small for three people,b ut we did know that when we booked it. The sofa bed was not comfortable, but I wasn't told this by the person sleeping on it until we were leaving and Steve did offer us the use of an air matress as an alternative which we could have taken advantage of if i had known. Steve was very helpful and attentive to our needs during our stay.

  If we had wanted a five star we would've coughed up the moola, so for what we wanted we got what we paid for and in our book, last minute and cheap for Seattle I would say it was 5 star in our book! Pictures very accurate, great location, old but clean. Thanks Steve.

  Our stay at the Virginian was very pleasant. The location was the best part - walking distance to Pike Place and the major shopping district and pretty close to the free bus area (which we were able to take back to the Amtrak station). Amenities were bare but just what we needed. Would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

  The location of The Virginian #209 was perfect for us - it's a great home base for exploring downtown Seattle. If we had been two people, everything would have been perfect - but the hide-a-bed really needs to be replaced! Steve understands this - he offered an air mattress as an alternative. He was very accommodating overall, and helped make our stay a good experience.

  The Virginian was great! Just as advertised! We stayed in #211. It was quiet, clean, and you cannot beat the location! Close to everything!!! Lot's of charm. The only issue we had was the size of the bed, which is not the Virginian's fault, we are just tall people! Two tall people in a full bed is a little tight. ;-) I would recommend this to anyone looking to take in all that DT Seattle has to offer! Steve was super friendly and accommodating!

  The building feels a little run-down, but you get a clean, quiet, and comfortable private apartment with a kitchen for a great price. And location can't be beat: Two blocks from Westlake Center and the light rail. A block from the 3rd Avenue bus lines. I'll stay here again.

  The place is great for the price and location. It's older, but that is clear from the listing. I think it adds character honestly. It had everything we needed. The water temp in the shower is inconsistent though, so just be careful not to have it too hot to begin with or when it gets hotter you could potentially hurt yourself. I would think especially important if you have kids and are staying there. I was a little bothered by the smell of cigarette smoke coming into the place from one of the other rooms. I don't think there's much they could do about that with an older building though. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Steve is super nice and easy to deal with and gave helpful recommendations of the area. The checkin and checkout process were very easy and smooth. Overall, a great budget stay in Seattle and we would stay there again.

  We stayed in Special Room #204 and it was awesome! Steve is a really nice person who was there to help us if we needed. He gave us some of the best advice on parking, which probably saved us close to $60! The room itself is exactly what we (two graduate students) expected. It had very comfortable beds, a small tv, a kitchen, and a bathroom. This isn't your typical cookie cutter hotel room though, this is an actual apartment. Small, but awesome and full of character. You window faces the street (across the street there is an awesome bakery), and you can park your car in view at night. The area itself is very nice. To touch on what a few others have said, we did see the occasional bum every now and then, but they mainly keep to themselves. Unlike most cities, they didn't bug us for money and we didn't see as many as we thought we would. This part of town is pretty clean, but we did observe other parts of the city where there were a few more bums. A few other things that are worth mentioning. The shower seems to have an endless supply of hot water! The city sounds at night with the window open are awesome and almost soothing, and if you don't like the sounds the window is made with thick glass or something since it cuts the sound out. The beds are really comfy. The WiFi is fast. I will definitely be staying at Special Room #204 in the future.

  Room #210 was incredible! You definitely get your moneys worth in this place. The room is very clean and spacious for the two of us. We were able to cook meals both nights which saved us money. Steve was a great host! Would recommend it to everyone.

  Steve was wonderful and accommodating. We had such a great time in Seattle which was definitely due to the fact that we had a clean, safe place to stay with a great landlord! Thank you Steve!
