Au programme

We'll journey from downtown Seattle to Sunrise Visitor's Center on the North side of Mount Rainier. From there we'll put on our hiking shoes and tackle the Burroughs Mountain Trail - the prettiest trail on Mount Rainier with the best views of the mountain.

Burroughs Mountain has been described as a mountain against a mountain. At over 7800 feet, Burroughs Mountain sets right up against the northeastern face of Mount Rainier, hugging the Winthrop Glacier. It offers one of the most dramatic views of Washington's largest volcano.

The hike is moderate to challenging with options to turn around at 4 or 6 miles making this the perfect option for those that want to push beyond the crowds but question their own limitations and abilities. This is YOUR hike, and we'll push as far as you are comfortable. But trust me, the views are worth it. There is no technical climbing and those in moderate to fit condition will find this hike to be both challenging and rewarding. You don't need special gear or prior experience - just an adventurous spirit!

Please note that we also offer snowshoe trips in the winter so you may see a mix of reviews from both our trips!

Your safety: per WA state guidance face coverings will be required while in the car for our guide's safety and yours. Once on the mountain, we'll be able to maintain social distancing and it will be at your discretion.

I started my own adventure company Adventures In Seattle and we focus on small private and semi-private hikes for adventuring souls. We focus on the most beautiful hikes with the best views.

Either myself or Kevin lead each hike. We are both experienced, professional outdoor guides with Wilderness First Responder certifications.

We love to share our wonderful world with other adventure seeking individuals who feel the wanderlust and the tug of the mountains. Because the mountains are calling, and we must go...

Le lieu

Our route from Seattle takes us along Hwy 410, which winds it's way alongside the White River as we trace the roaring river to it's source at the glaciers of Mount Rainier. The hike starts and ends out of Sunrise Visitor's Center which is located on the North side of Mount Rainier National Park. Transportation is provided from your airbnb, hotel, or home to Mount Rainier and back.

I want to start by saying that easily this was one of the best experiences I ever had! It was absolutely magical. It was everything I’ve dreamed of and more than I expected! Kevin picked me up from my hotel in Seattle and we headed to Crystal Mountain resort area. The drive itself was pretty awesome! Once we were in the mountains the view was spectacular with snow on top of the trees which made it look like a fairytale! We went on gondola ride and it was truly Amazing as well. We got lucky and were able to see Mt. Rainier once we got to the top. Hiking in snowshoes was very fun. I would say it’s rather easy to do:) Kevin himself is an absolutely amazing human being! It was truly a pleasure to share this experience with him. Not to mention the amount of photos and videos he took of me..:) I would definitely recommend this experience! It’s truly unforgettable!

I got to experience this snowshoeing adventure with Kevin and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience. I had so much fun. The weather was clear and perfect. Kevin knew the trail very well including knowledge of everything down to the tree type and how to tell the difference. You can tell he’s extremely passionate about what he does. He tried to make everything I wanted to experience happen including sliding. This was truly memorable and highly recommended. Looking forward to trying another tour with them.

This was a gift for my parents, who've talked about going snowshoeing for years. They absolutely loved the experience. They said the guide was friendly, knowledgeable and an interesting person. My dad liked the view and the vibe. And my mom liked the workout and fresh air. We are already recommending this to friends and family.

It was a great snowshoeing experience doing it for the first time and Kevin made sure to guide me and make sure the snowshoes fitted properly. It was about a 4 mile hike and definitely challenging but was great fun with lots of snow! I would recommend this experience.

An absolutely incredible experience! Going on the Skyline Trail in September allowed for the fall colors as well as some snow flurries to come down, providing a vast array of colors and beauty throughout the park. Kevin was an amazing guide, and provided all gear needed to complete the entire hike, as well as being kind and accommodating to all hikers in the group. One of the best hikes of my life!!
