Au programme

Uncover Osaka's attractions, foods & culture with local!

I'll introduce you to both the highlights and secret spots of Osaka, paired with stories about each and every one of them. You'll get tons of recommendations of where to eat, what else to see, and even other cities to visit, so have your notepad ready! You will also get an insightful understanding of everyday Japanese customs, including topics that local guides may not be comfortable letting visitors know about, so please ask me any questions!

We'll check out a traditional food market where top chefs continue to shop at everyday (daytime tours only). We'll contrast that by slipping into quiet cobblestoned back alleys to uncover a mystic temple and its centuries-old history. Be prepared for a sensory overload as we navigate wacky larger-than-life billboards highlighting modern Japanese culture. You'll get to hear plenty of interesting stories about Osaka along the way & get some fantastic photo opportunities. On night tours, you'll be dazzled by the retrograde neon all over the city and the exciting nightlife that Osaka is so famous for.

Please note: This tour is between 2 hours to 2.5 hours, depending on the size and pace of the group.

I've been a professional tour guide in South Korea and Japan for six years, which includes 2 years as regional director of a tour company in Korea. And with nearly 9 years of life in Asia, not only do I LOVE traveling, but I also love sharing my experiences and knowledge with others!

As a Canadian in Japan, I bring a unique and enthusiastic perspective to my tours, paired with multiple years of research about the local area. I do my very best to make sure you'll love Osaka as much as I do by the end of the Experience.

Looking for more food? Check out my "Kuromon Market Food Tour." Join both of my tours & get a 10% cash discount on your 2nd booking.

I only had a few hours in Osaka and Barun’s tour really helped give an overview of what I’d like to visit when I have more time in Osaka during another trip. We learned a lot about Japanese culture, different streets in Osaka and all the interesting foods. Can’t wait to come back!

It was an OK tour that gave us some of the basics of a few Osaka neighborhoods, but most of it is easily found in any guidebook. It wasn’t hidden gems as much as it was obvious gems. For a first time visitor it was a good introduction to the area, but it lacked specific insight or context that would have made the tour special.

Barun understands the culture and food scene of Osaka really well. He made sure that we felt connected and shared his insights with us. In short, it was a nice experience. If you don't have too much time or want an overview of Osaka first, you should try this tour.

Osaka is a very beautiful city and I was able to have a memorable experience thanks to Barun’s tour. His tour exceeded my expectation. It’s a time we’ll spent and I highly encourage everyone to book his tour. He brought us to various areas of the city which we would easily skip if we have not done the tour! He’s very knowledgeable about the city and he’s very passionate about sharing that during his guide. You can tell his love for travel because he allows you to enjoy the experience, share recommendations and pause to take unique photos. Barun does an excellent job as a tour guide because this is definitely a highlight of my trip to Osaka!
