Having recently married, we went to Sorrento for our honeymoon. The experience did not disappoint. It was a mini lesson in history, culture, politics, art, architecture and ordinary everyday life in Sorrento. This was insightful.
Debbie was easy to get a long with. She knew when to talk and when not to. She was friendly, but also knew when to give us space. We walked around for three hours. Not a single second was boring.
Debbie explained the way things were and why they were so. The walk started in town and went all the way to the site of an ancient Roman Villa, on the other side of town. If you are an experienced swimmer and the weather is good, this is a magical place to take a dive in the Mediterranean Sea!
On the way up from town, we walked through narrow streets, among impressive big houses. The varieties in plants was notable and beautiful! We saw splendid fields along the way. Debbie took every opportunity to educate us on the names of particular plants and fruits as well as their properties.
At the end, one can either decide to walk back or catch the bus into Sorrento town centre. We decided to walk back as we knew the reward for this would be an eventual sense of accomplishment. The kind of feeling that nobody can ever take away from you. We feel good about it, just recalling the experience.
The walk is a good work out. Our top tip: remember to wear your most comfortable trainers, make sure they have good grip too and just enjoy every second of the walk!
We are grateful to Debbie for such a wonderful experience!

Great experience! All the history that Deborah talked about was fascinating, especially if you're familiar with the general history. I will say that the walk was a bit of an exercise, but the views that it led to were absolutely spectacular and very memorable!

Deborah showed us a lot of places that we wouldn't have found on our own. She also told us many entertaining stories about Sorrento and the region. We had a really good time with her. It's worth visiting a place with a local guide who knows a lot about the area.

The best introduction tour of Sorrento. Nature walk outside the city, combined with the historic Sorrento center. Beatiful views. Moderate difficulty (some steps and uphill walking is involved). Debbie grew up in the area and she showed us some streets away from the busy tourist paths that only locals are aware of.

I cannot recommend this tour with Deborah enough! It was my favorite part of my Sorrento experience. Walking through the streets hearing about the culture, restaurant recommendations then to the off beaten nature path up to a stunning view of the coast. I was able to see olive, lemon, and orange farming among several villa estates. Deborah was a treat herself, kind, knowledgeable and sincere. I did this tour in December and can only imagine how much more gorgeous it would be in warmer months. This is the best non/touristy tour ever! Highly recommend
