Ce que vous allez faire

A trip down memory lane with Berlin locals: You will meet two Berlin locals- from east and west and you will find out about their life's in the GDR and West Berlin before the Berlin Wall came down and after the reunification of Germany. You will get a real and honest picture about: “How was life behind the Berlin Wall?" from both sides. We will talk about the cold war time, why the Berlin Wall was built, about society's and community's that came out of the two different political systems and about an typical east and west character. The experience will start at the famous and historical “Place of November 9, 1989” where the Berlin Wall fell first. We continue walking on the former No mans land, an area that is not at all touristic and we visit the most popular park in Berlin- Mauerpark is famous for the biggest flea market, the hidden Berlin Wall with legal graffiti art and his underground vibes. Between our walk(2km) we will have a coffee and the time to go more deeper in conversations: to talk about our personal stories and experiences and answer your questions. We also show you some real GDR documents that are quite funny and interesting. We end the Experience close to the Berlin Wall Memorial.

Valerie&Regina

Hi! We are Valerie and Regina and we are from two different generations and political systems: Regina lived for 28 years in East Berlin and I lived 36 years in West Berlin. We grew up so differently and even after 30 years of being reunified as a country and a people our personal lives are still bearing the marks of the past. With our personal life experiences we want to give Berlin visitors the opportunity to get an authentic account of: How was the life behind the wall? And does the wall still exist in our minds?
