Au programme

Basil, the miniature Shetland is the main star of the show!
We will begin by walking across the grounds to Basil’s stable where we will groom his coat, giving him breakfast, cleaning his feet and brush his mane. We will then take him for a walk around the property collecting some of his favourite healthy snacks (tree branches & plants). And visiting some of his fluffy friends along the way - Mooona Lisa and the highland cows, Benji the new forrest pony, Bernard the feisty cockerel, and AberaLamb Lincoln and WilliLamb Shakespeare the herdwick rams. I advise bringing Wellingtons or boots as the paddocks can be muddy in winter.

Following this we will head over to the walled garden for tea, cakes and pastries. Basil’s coming too don’t worry!

You will also have the opportunity to meet any of the other animals should you wish too, but please let us know ahead of time if there’s any in particular you’d like to meet so we can move them to paddocks nearer the house.

We will then take Basil back to his paddock with some goodbye treats and hugs!

*MORE DATES/TIMES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.* Please enquire if you don’t see the dates you’re looking for.

Groups of 2 or more guests please be aware you can book a private session for the same price as a public one. We look forward to meeting you!

Hi, I’m Brittany, I’m 23 and by trade I am a professional equine photographer.

For as long as I can remember I have always been passionate about caring for and rescuing animals in need. Born into a family’s of horse lovers, horses in particular have been a big part of my life since I was just a year old. I got my first pony (Benji) when I was 11, and we still have him here on the property along with 5 other horses.

I believe one of the best ways we can improve the treatment of animals is by allowing people to interact directly with them and educating people on their care.

On the property we have more than just horses - we also have a variety of rescued farm animals that includes, cows, sheep, chickens, turkeys, 2 cats, an airdale dog, and a tortoise.

Anyone who is considering this experience should definitely book it. Amazing value for money. My partner and I visited earlier today, and we had a fantastic time (so much so, we are already excited to go back). Britt was a great host and so thoughtful from the outset: due to roadworks and traffic, we ended up being nearly half an hour late to start the day, but Britt was totally fine with it and still gave us the full experience and her time. She also arranged homemade cakes to be made for me and went out of her way to prepare dairy free foods to meet my dietary requirements. Hugely over and above what I was expecting. The rural surroundings are also beautiful and absolutely lovely to explore. We got to meet, feed and cuddle so many animals during the day - who knew chickens could be so cuddly? We started the day grooming Basil and getting to know him, before taking him on a walk round the paddocks to see Benji the horse, and Oscar the Shetland pony. We fed and played with them for a while and Britt even showed us how to do some tricks with Benji. We then carried on and fed the highland cows. Next, we walked Basil up and round the fields to meet more horses: Westie, Pandora, Louis and another one, before walking Basil back to the main house and towards the chickens. My partner and I fed them, and cuddled them. We then ambled back to where we first groomed Basil, and then fed and stroked two (very!) little Ouessant sheep, before we were led through the grounds to tea and cake in what looked like a beautiful, nature-inspired, Mad Hatter's tea party setting. What we especially loved about the day was Britt 's passion and love for the animals: it really shone through. Almost, if not all, of the animals are rescued, and it was so good to hear how she'd saved them from being put down and nursed them back to health. She also gave us great tips on looking after the animals, if we were ever to get some of our own. This was our first Airbnb experience day and we honestly had a great, great time. Thank you ao much Basil and Britt (and your grandma for the delicious cake!) X

I booked this experience for my daughters 10th Birthday, we were 3 adults and 3 children, it was a truly wonderful sunny day and the walk around the grounds and seeing all the animals and horses was magical! I had told Brittany that it was my daughters birthday and she put a birthday banner up and got a singing popping candle, which was great. I was able to take my own birthday cupcakes and so this was just perfect! I can totally recommend this experience, and we will come back again for sure! Thanks so much! xx

We had a brilliant time with Brittany and Basil. It was a delight to be able to brush Basil's coat and mane and clean out his shoes. The walk around the beautiful grounds to meet and feed all the animals was so relaxing. I loved being able hold the chickens. Brittany even gave us some eggs to take home. The snacks at the end were delicious. If you love animals it's a perfect experience.
