Au programme

From the right bank to the ile de la Cité we will discover the evolution of Paris from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. We will begin with a stop in front of a private mansion from the 17th century before visiting a gothic cellar from the 13th century. First immersion into the medieval life and in case of bad weather a warm stop! Then we will discover the most common building for the poor and middle class Parisian during the Middle Ages. We will have a look on a very amazing church built in two very different architectural styles! Before joining the Saint-Louis island, we will have a friendly stop in a lovely café to drink a hot chocolate or a latte...
Arrived on the ile de la Cité we will return into the atmosphere full of mysteries and legends of the Middle Ages with the love story of Héloïse and Abélard the French Romeo and Juliet, the life in Notre-Dame cloister and many other things... We will also make a jump through time during the Gallo-Roman period to discover Paris before Paris.
I wish with this tour to make history come alive, to give the mute buildings of the past a voice and help you to engage with the city on a deeper level than typical tourist activities would.
Other things to note
Not accessible to baby strollers and wheelchairs.
Plan a raincloth or umbrella in case ...

Hi I am Nathalie. Passionate by the history and the evolution of my city I want you to share in the same and to see Paris from a different way. I studied Art History and Archeology at Paris-Sorbonne University with a specialization for the Antiquity and the Middle Age. I like to show different ways to understand the spirit of Paris. To me there is nothing like learning by walking and observing. Then If you want to live the Paris of the cathedrals, of damsels and noblemen, of secrets and legends... Follow me! I want to bring medieval Paris to life.

A wonderful experience. I’m glad we chose Nathalie for our guide to the Middle Ages. It was amazing to explore an area of parus I thought I knew, only to walk away with new perspective and seeing corners I had never noticed. Well done.

Very unique experience to understand the history of the city of Paris from its origins...not something you could easily learn about the city as a visitor! Natalie is really an expert and so passionate and excited about the history. She is also very sweet and kind. The whole experience was marvelous and I would recommend it to all lovers of history.

It was a fantastic experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about Paris. A lot of detail in terms of medeival architecture and landmarks that would have otherwise been lost on us Nathalie is warm, approachable and communicates wonderfully, always checking in to ask if we have any questions. Her tour is peppered with interesting anecdotes and personal touches that make it really fun. Highly recommended!

오늘 추운 날씨인데 열정적으로 설명해주셔서 감사했어요· 중세 고딕양식을 알기에 유익한 시간이었습니다.

Nathalie really knows her subject. She leads all sizes of tours, from big groups to one person, and she likes questions. You will learn lots about Paris, from where the Roman wall used to be to how the repairs on Notre Dame are progressing. It's not too much walking, and it was fun! Take this tour, you won't regret it.
