Au programme

On this tour we visit three different habitats (eucalypt forest, rainforest and grassland), to see Aussies wildlife where they live. We guarantee that you'll see; koala, kangaroo, wallaby, flying fox and birds. We may see pademelon, echidna, tawny frogmouth, water dragons, depending on the weather. Includes a locally sourced picnic in the rainforest.

The typical mammal sightings are: 3-6 koalas, 10-30 eastern grey kangaroos, 100's of grey headed and black flying fox, 2-6 red necked wallaby, 1-4 red-legged pademelon. Plus any number of birds such as: purple swamp hen, dusky moorhen, coot, wood duck, pacific black duck, ibis, spoonbill, egret (various species), rainbow lorikeet, scaly breasted lorikeet, kookaburra, eastern yellow robin, scrub wrens, noisy pitta, magpies, willie wagtails, currawong.

As we have to visit the wildlife where they live, there is some driving involved with this tour, which includes a 45 min drive at the start, 1 hour drive at the end and short drives with walks in-between.

We enjoyed our fun day out with Wendy, who brought us to see all sorts of Australian animals in nature. She's an animal lover who knows exactly where to find the animals. So different from seeing them at the zoo! :)

What a day!! Wendy was a brilliant host during our day where we managed to see everything I had hoped to from this trip. From flying foxes to pademelons, koala to kangaroo and wallabies. All in all an excellent day - great to see the wildlife in their natural environment and learnt so much from Wendy. Highly recommend if you have a few days staying in or near Byron.

Highly recommend this tour while you’re in Byron! Booked last minute and so glad we did. Wendy was very accommodating, and such a wonderful host! She took us to see animals in their natural habitat, which was important to us, at places we couldn’t have gone to on our own. She knew exactly how and where to see them, and knew everything about each of them. We learned so much on the tour, and had quite an adventure! You can see how passionate Wendy is with what she does with the kind of experience she provides.
