Au programme

We start our tour at Ginjal Quay where we can contemplate the everchanging walls of this former industrial fishing spot full of graffiti.

After a short walk we arrive at Jardim do Rio and, from there, we go up the hill (stairs or ramp) to explore the narrow streets of Almada Velha where we can find a mix of pastel tones buildings, ruins and stray cats.

We will visit Casa da Cerca and Jardim do Castelo, both with astonishing panoramic views of Lisbon and Tagus River. A short walk up the hill and we reach Cristo-Rei statue.

From there we will walk around through the bush and Quinta da Arealva, where it used to be a factory of tiles and bricks and now is all ruins, to arrive back to Jardim do Rio, where we can contemplate the sunset.

Meeting Point: Cacilhas Boat Terminal (10 mins by boat from Cais do Sodre Terminal Boat)
Everyday from 5pm
Price: $15
Level: 2 - Moderate
Duration: 3h30-4h
Other things to note
Please have your own water as summer days in Lisbon may be very hot. You may fill up your bottle at some places along the walking tour, but be mindful that water fountains are not always working properly.

Please wear unclosed shoes, since the path may be full of debris, clay and broken glasses.

I've been living abroad since 2008 and travelling the world since then. I'm from Brazil, lived for ten years in Australia and taught English for Thai kids for 6 months. Now I'm in Portugal, living on the other side of Tagus River and I want to show you the other side of Lisbon.... literally.

I'm graduated in Communications (Brazil) and have 10 years of experience in the field, I also studied Business & Tourism (Australia) and have ten more years of experience in Hospitality & Customer Service.

My main hobbies are travelling, photographing & walking. I like to know people from other places and to learn about their culture. I also love to be around Nature and be inspired by tiny details of the daily life.
