Au programme

You will make a sour dough with me with my 5-year-old sour dough starter. You will then enjoy an omelet while waiting for the bread to be ready. You will also bring a dough back home to practice at the end of the class.

I have been baking sour dough bread for 5 years. What makes my bread unique is the five-year-old starter. Another fun fact is that I am a home brewer and I learned how to put the grains from my brewing into the bread to give it a unique flavor. If you love beer and bread, come and learn with me. We will have the class at our apartment. I feel most comfortable to cook in my own kitchen and I love my cast iron pans. I have a 6-year old short-haired cat. He is very friendly and like to interact with people. If you don't feel comfortable with cat surrounding, please let me know.

Me and my husband had a great time baking sourdough bread with Lijie. We loved listening to her talk about bread making and other food products that can be made in a similar way. Her house was comfortable and she was very warm and friendly. Highly recommend for other couples who look for a cooking class together :)

Apart from hosting a great class, Lijie is a passionate cook and she taught us different ways in which we can make our own recipes from farm to table. Her ideas and initiatives opened up my mind and helped me look at food and food processing from a new perspective . I hope to take this learning and use it in my life.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun hands-on class and we decided to take Lijie's sourdough baking class. Lijie was a great host, making us feel at home and we had a wonderful time learning from her and sharing stories about our similar hobbies - we both have an aquaponics tank and she brews beer while I brew kombucha! She explained the process well and after our hands-on experience, we left feeling excited to keep baking bread at home. We also got to enjoy some of her other homemade foods and play with her cat while waiting for the bread to bake. :) Overall a really fun experience, especially for anyone who's interested in fermentation!

Lijie is a wonderful host and a great teacher. She is very knowledgeable about baking and fermentation. She kindly guided us every step of the way and I left the experience much more knowledgeable compared to when I started it.

Please let me know if you are allergic to nuts. I usually like to put nuts in the bread because it makes the flavor great, however, we can substitute it with something else if it is a concern for you.
