Hike, Drive and Explore the best of Cape Point

We start our day with a scenic drive to Cape Point via Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Simons Town to the Entrance of Cape Point.

Penguins - We will arrive at Boulders Beach, before the crowds, to view the African Penguin at one of only 2 land based colonies. We will have an opportunity to view their social interactions and breeding behaviour as well as get some great up close photographs.

Lighthouses and the Cape of Good Hope - After the Penguins we will visit the most South-Western Point on the African Continent, Cape of Good Hope before heading to Cape Point. Here you will get to admire the view and spot the two lighthouses. Lunch will be taken and you will be able to enjoy incredible views over False Bay.

Hike - We will then escape the crowds and end our day with a moderate 2 hour hike in one of the remote areas of Cape Point. The hike will focus on the unique floral diversity and history of the area.

We finish off the day with a scenic return to the Cape Town via Noordhoek and Chapmans Peak drive. (If Chapmans Peak is closed we will return via Ou Kaapse Weg)

I am a born and bred Capetonian and a qualified Nature Conservator and Guide. I am very passionate about the Biodiversity of Cape Point. I have over 7 years experience working for Table Mountain National Park, 5 of which was spent working in the Cape of Good Hope Section. My knowledge ranges from the history of the area as well as which animals are found in the Park and which you might encounter. I also have a good knowledge on the plant species in the Park and I aim to give guests some insights into the Fynbos found here.

Maria's tour of the Cape of Good Hope was fantastic! She provided such a great level of insight and knowledge on everything from good restaurants, to the flora of the Cape Peninsula, to tasty local beers, and the mating habits of African penguins! The itinerary is great. A little bit of city life and local culture, a little bit of hiking, and information about Cape Point. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone as it's got so much to offer.

We really enjoyed our experience with Marisa and the all day excursion was definitely unique as the hiking path was completely empty (certainly off the tourist track!). We really enjoyed the convenience of having a guide for all of the stops and Marisa was very professional throughout the entire experience, teaching us about local history, plant and animal life. Marisa was very kind in her flexibility regarding our pick-up and drop-off points being at different places and was very communicative in terms of organising the trip months and days prior. Be mindful to really follow the packing list suggestion as the sun is much stronger than we were accustomed to and there is no shade during the afternoon hike. I would suggest bringing water, sun screen to reapply and a few snacks with you during the walk. The views made it worth it, nonetheless! Thank you Marisa for a very special and unique experience we will not forget soon!

It was a really nice experience. Marisa is open and friendly and is also flexible during the day. You see a lot of hotspots but also places you may not see if you go on your own to Cape Point. I would really recommand this experience!

The experience with Marisa is indeed once in a lifetime experience, especially the hike- it’s something that we wouldn’t have done it on our own. She is knowledgeable and her passion towards biodiversity is apparent. She has very good eye and was able to spot animals from afar! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

We had a wonderful day with Marisa and enjoyed every minute of this very special experience. Marisa is lovely and highly qualified. She showed us all the attractions that we expected but also some hidden places. The tour is well planned so that we arrived everywhere before the crowds. We highly recommend the tour!

This particular tour was definitely a memorable one. The best part is that you can go to places with amazing sceneries you wouldn't be able to visit without a car, plus Marisa is super kind and friendly. Marisa is an expert in nature reserves so it was super interesting to find out a lot about indigenous plants and animals.
