Au programme

We will get to know each other tasting a coffee in a historical café in the city. Here coffee is an unique experience and you will find out how to drink it, like real Triestini's. Later on we will reach with the historical Opicina tram (replacement bus in case the tram connection would be out of order) the green and peculiar Carsic upland, the start point to our trip. From here we will walk for like 1 hour, enjoying a stunning view of the town and the sea. In this peaceful scenery we will have a "rebechin", a typical Triestin snack, tasting local products. We will continue our walk crossing a peculiar village and we will start descending to the sea. On the fishermen trails and passing by a railway station from 1857 we will end our trip in the amazing park of Miramare Castle. Later on you can visit the castle or I can take you to the town center. If it's a sunny day, the best way to end the trip is to refresh with a nice swim, so don't forget to bring a towel and a swimwear.

I’m Martina, a passionate traveler and expert of responsible tourism! I like exploring the world that surrounds us, diving myself into the local life of all the places I visit! My roots always take me back to Trieste, a town that I love, and for this reason I would like to share its beauties with travelers from all over the world.
I share my vision of the world with my husband Roberto, a passionate traveller and anthropologist, who sometimes is going to join us on this experience.

Le lieu

I love Carst, its nature, the beautiful views on the town that it can offers and the Triestin way of live called "viva la e po bon" (easy going). A good coffee, a walk in Carst, a rebechin and the sea represent, in my opinion, the true soul of the town.

Grazie ancora Martina! :)

Excellent tour that started off with an introductory chat over cappuccinos in a unique cafe. We then caught a bus to the start of the Napoleonic Road, with Martina pointing out numerous interesting sights along the way. The walk to Cotovello and then, the Roman road down to the Mira Mar Castle passed too quickly as Martina pointed out the many sites and features along the way and answered our many question on our the history, culture and social issues relating to Trieste and region. A delightful picnick on a rocky ledge overlooking Cotovello and Mira Mar was delightful as we chatted and enjoyed local prosciutto and cheese washed down with elderberry cordial and delicious local wine.

Great experience. Martina showed us a side of Trieste, we found very interesting and told us about a lot of social-cultural and historical developments in this multicultured town and province. The walk along the mountainside and the views were great and also our little picnick. Many thanks for a fine day.

The experience provides amazing views of the city that you would not get otherwise. This was our first airbnb experience booking and it is exactly what we expected from it. Martina had in depth knowledge of the city and we got to see amazing parts of Trieste and nearby towns that we would not have found on our own.
