I will introduce you to the ingredients and process it takes to make backing awesome French Baguette easily. Starting with mixing the ingredients to make the dough through storing it correctly over-night. We then take a dough I prepared before and shape it into Baguette. In our case, these are actually called Ficelle. It's nothing else but a shorter and skinnier version of a Baguette. We will then go over the setup of the Oven and what it is the Baguette needs to rise and develop its nice crust as well as soft Crumb. We will go over some of the Myths we all have heard about, I am sure. Actually baking the Baguette is the 2nd to last step, eating it will be the last step before we all hopefully end the class with a big SMILE.
I am married to a French woman that is demanding when it comes to her Baguette. Her dad is even more French and sees his Baguette as a basic need. I managed to please both of them after a true 2 years of Trial and Error and refinement over time. I now can bake this Baguette in nearly any oven and with many different flours. The German in me is super proud to have achieved this, now I want to share the joy of baking an awesome Baguette.
