Sousei was wonderful! It was everything we could’ve imagined and he was great. We got lots of photos done and he had a wide selection of kimonos for us to choose from. There were even a lot of LL or plus size options. Although I wish there were floral options in the plus size. Aside from that. I loved everything.

A nice experience. You learn how to put a Kimono on and walk around a small part of town taking nice photos including a river and temple. Then head back where you pay a small extra fee on the design you have chosen to take the Kimono home with you.

Sousei is friendly and the experience is fun. Overall value is good. I do have a few feedbacks: 1. He will ask you to leave a review before sending you the photos, which I don’t feel comfortable about. 2. He advertised a lot about his other business during the experience and talked about how many guests and good reviews he has received (as some other reviews have mentioned). Sousei appears to me someone who is running an efficient business, but i wish there is more connection and passion. Communication was also limited because his English is not very good, as many other guests have mentioned. I wish we can get more information beyond “this is a maple tree” and “this is a temple”, although it was nice of him to try to be informative as we are taking photos. 3. He asked for 1000yen per 15min late, even after I offered to just cut the experience short (which seems to me totally doable as the second half of the experience is just walking around and taking photos). 4. He insisted on sending the photos over instagram, after I said I would prefer email strongly many times. Besides the fact that I don't like adding none close friends on instagram, photo quality ended up being very compressed. 5. The "hair styling" included is very minimal (in our case a ponytail + braid). It's much less than what other kimono rental places do (they usually curl your hair, do lots of braids and twists, and put on accessories). 6. Sousei (who is a male obviously) is the only one who will be doing the fitting and styling for you so you can't really take off what you are wearing inside so that they won't show below the yukata. The experience is also held in a hotel room (like, a room with a bed) and we were the only guests so it feels a bit awkward to me. Again, he is friendly and overall value is not bad. Just trying to be honest here about my experience. After digging through the reviews seems like I'm not the only one who feels this way so I hope this review can result in positive improvements. Thank you!

Sousei was a great host. We did a 1 to 1 teaching on how to put the kimono together with me and my husband. He was very knowledgeable. The photoshoot was very lovely! He took us to some really great locations around the city. Very friendly host, we didn’t bring a bag (that was our fault) after the photoshoot to our kimonos in and he was nice enough to find a bag for us :)
