Au programme

You'll hike to Lake Helene with a former Park Ranger of Rocky Mountain National Park, learning how to snowshoe and explore the park in winter.

Our full day adventure will take you 7 miles round-trip to Lake Helene and back, gaining roughly 1,300 feet of elevation. We'll spend the day talking about Rocky, eat lunch (not included in the price) just below the summit of one of Colorado's most iconic mountains, see a frozen waterfall, and take in some of the parks best views.

This adventure will start just before sunrise (6:00am MST) and will last up to eight hours, returning to the Bear Lake Trailhead no later than 2pm MST (we're done by 12:00pm-1pm on average). We also offer custom times and dates by request.

We hope this immersive experience will deepen your connection to this wild landscape and inspire you to do more to protect wild landscapes in your neck of the woods and around the world.

We include snowshoes, trekking poles, and a granola bar. Please be prepared for winter conditions and have gaitors to help keep snow out of your winter boots. Gratuities always appreciated if you enjoy your trip.

I've spent the last four years working as a Park Ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park, frequently visiting the Longs Peak/Chasm Lake area and using my free time to explore the most remote and least-known corners of this wild park.

I'm now taking my experience as a ranger and my love for Rocky, and using it to teach others about the park, to deepen connections to wild landscapes, and to inspire others to protect the Earth.

By joining one of my trips, you'll be directly supporting sustainable and local eco-tourism. I donate at least 10% of my profits to conservation efforts around the world, ensuring that every step of your journey helps rewild the planet.

If you're up for an adventure and want to learn about the park from a local, let me show you a wilder side of Rocky!
