Au programme

You'll hike to Emerald Lake with a former Park Ranger of Rocky Mountain National Park, learning how to snowshoe and explore the park in winter.

Our half day adventure will take you 4 miles round-trip to Emerald Lake and back, gaining roughly 650 feet of elevation. We'll spend the day talking about Rocky, stand below the summit of iconic mountains and take in some of the parks best views. This adventure will last three to four hours, returning to the Bear Lake Trailhead thereafter. We also offer custom times and dates by request.

We hope this immersive experience will deepen your connection to this wild landscape and inspire you to do more to protect wild landscapes in your neck of the woods and around the world.

We include snowshoes, trekking poles, coffee and a granola bar/apple. Please be prepared for winter conditions and have gaitors to help keep snow out of your winter boots.

I've spent the last four years working as a Park Ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park, frequently visiting the Longs Peak/Chasm Lake area and using my free time to explore the most remote and least-known corners of this wild park.

I'm now taking my experience as a ranger and my love for Rocky, and using it to teach others about the park, to deepen connections to wild landscapes, and to inspire others to protect the Earth.

By joining one of my trips, you'll be directly supporting sustainable and local eco-tourism. I donate at least 10% of my profits to conservation efforts around the world, ensuring that every step of your journey helps rewild the planet.

If you're up for an adventure and want to learn about the park from a local, let me show you a wilder side of Rocky!

We met up with Nick in the Rocky Mountain National Park for a morning of snowshoeing and had a fantastic time. Having never been to the park, we arranged the trip from our home in North Carolina, and Nick made preparing for the day super easy by telling us exactly what to bring and what to expect. His advice was excellent and helped to put my wife, who was very anxious about hiking in the show, at ease. Athletically speaking, my family is diverse, ranging from a ten-year-old video game junkie who rarely sees the light of day to a middle-aged man running Spartan races. Nick was super patient with everyone and didn't mind at all that it took forever before we were ready to start the hike. When one of our kids couldn't make it any further due to the altitude, he helped us figure out a "plan B" so that everyone could still enjoy the day. Nick was super knowledgeable of the area, easy to talk to, and excellent with the kids. Plus, he even took great photos for us, so we didn't have to remove our gloves in the cold! If we make it back to Colorado, I wouldn't even consider another guide.

We went on a family snowshoeing adventure with Nick and had a wonderful time. Nick was a great host and made sure everyone in the party was having a great time! 10/10 would recommend and we will be back to do the longer one!
