It is among the most booked and best valued cooking experiences in Puglia, the only one in Polignano a Mare to offer a cooking class on Apulian pasta : "ORECCHIETTE".

This experience is as much about food as it is about ingredients.
Olive oil EVO, tomatoes, fava beans and peas, figs and much more all produced by us organically.
My passion for good food comes from this place where I will host you.The object is to share this authenticity with you.

As a welcome you will be offered seasonal fruit picked from my orchard.
I will tell you how to live in the countryside between animals and genuine flavors amplify our sense of belonging to a world to protect and preserve.

Next, guests will learn to make two types of PASTA: ORECCHIETTE & CAVATELLI, the typical pasta of the Apulian Sunday, by hand.
They will be involved in an outdoor cooking experience between flowers and authentic nature. I will share with you ancient recipes and secrets inherited from my grandmother.

While we wait for the fresh pasta to dry under the sun just like tradition we will visit the vegetable garden from which you can taste vegetables and fruits at the moment directly from the field.

Next, Finally at the table! We will taste our fresh handmade pasta with excellent sauces and pizza of onion and homemade focaccia, local wine.

I'm not a chef I work in the cinema and tv as a organizer I love sharing knowledge, I'm very attached to tradition I consider them an important added value for each of us. My great passion is to create excellent "ORECCHIETTE" typical Sunday Apulian pasta.
Knead the PASTA for me is therapeutic, regenerating, it is a way to create, it is returning to feel the smells that have accompanied me throughout childhood and relive magical moments. Living in the countryside I became passionate about the true flavors that the field can offer us, we only eat fresh and seasonal products. I started having a vegetable garden and surrounding myself with flowers and fruit trees. I have a wonderful family and a five year old daughter!

The location is my house: typical "trulli". It is a thousand year old dwelling consisting of two trulli and an ancient tower. the house is surrounded by secular olive oil, almond, figs and cactus fruits and the vegetables garden. The location is in one of the oldest countryside of Polignano: Santa Barbara. Lucia and her family welcomed us into their home and shared with us her family history of pasta-making! This experience was fantastic because of the unique setting and because of Lucia’s wonderful family hosting and teaching us. We were a group of 5 including my daughter who turned 4 years old the following day and my 75 year old mother who doesn’t hear well. Lucia accommodated all of us, even having a special treat at the end for my daughter’s birthday. In addition to making pasta, we loved learning about their fascinating lives and careers, and my daughter loved playing with their daughter. I hope our paths cross again! Highly recommend this unique experience far removed from typical touristy attractions!

Lucia and her family were wonderful to our family! She took time explaining the basics of pasta making, was patient with my 2 yo nephew and understanding when had to leave early due to an emergency. Overall a fantastic experience!

This class was such a pleasant experience to slow down and reconnect with food and its origins in Sicily. Making pasta from scratch gives a new appreciation for its consistency and shape as well as its historical origins. Our two-year-old son was definitely able to participate in parts and was thoroughly engrossed. Lucia was a wonderful host and readily invited us into her home and family, who helped during the class. I definitely recommend.

Lucia, Asciano and their daughter Diana are a truely wonderful family who welcomed me into their home. The experience was authentic with an ancient historical aspects to their property from the Trulli style farm house to 200yo Olive trees and other fruits and vegetables. A truly special experience in Puglia for the whole family. My husband, six year-old son and I spent a magical afternoon at Lucia’s trullo-style house in the countryside where the art if making pasta by hand was demystified! Lucia was knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging to us novice pasta makers. As a foodie who believes in eating organic, I was in heaven. The fruits came from her own garden, the vegetables from a neighbor who farms organically. The olive oil was made by Lucia from her olive trees. I felt a deep appreciation for being able to eat so close to the source — “zero kilometers” as Lucia said! We savored every bite, and my son ate two portions of the pasta he helped make. It was a wonderful day we will always remember. Mil grazie Lucia!
