Au programme

MEET: At 8h45 you'll meet the team at Le Peloton Café. Note that the café opens around 8h, so you'll have time to grab a craft coffee or delectable waffle to start you off.

TRAIN: After meeting your enthusiastic guide and the rest of your group members (between 10-14 travellers) at the café, you'll take the train together out to Versailles.

MARKET: First stop is the Versailles farmer's market— one of the best in France. Get all the best recommendations on what to buy from your guide, and sweet talk the vendors for some mouth watering taste-testing!

BIKE: After the market, we'll ride into the amazing royal grounds and experience the legendary gardens of Versailles.

WALK: We'll walk through the (often missed) peasant village created for Marie Antoinette, and the Petit Trianon, which was her personal castle and residence.

EAT: Our picnic stop is through the gardens along the Grand Canal. We'll set our bikes aside, sit in the grass, and enjoy the view of the swans and castle. After eating (and hearing amazing stories about Versailles!) we'll ride back through the town of Versailles to return our bikes.

CASTLE: You'll have free time to explore the Versailles Château at your own pace (with a free audio-guide included).

INCLUDED:
- Round trip RER train tickets to and from Versailles
- Tickets into the castle, gardens, and Marie Antoinette's hamlet
- Knowledgable & fun guide!

Emily's been living in France since 2014, and found her international crew at the Peloton Café and Bike About Tours shortly after moving. Enthralled to have a buzzing hub of people passionate about coffee, bikes, and community, Emily jumped on board with the company. She hopes you'll check out their bike tours of Versailles, Paris, and Champagne (more to come!) and at the very least visit them at the Peloton café while in town. Need advice? Christian and Paul have been here for since 2002, so if you swing by the café you'll find yourself swimming in fabulous recommendations!

This experience was amazing! Beautiful sites and an expert host in Dan. My favourite part was getting to shop for our own picnic and with Dan’s help we picked some items we would never have been able to pick ourselves. My husband is an avid cyclist and had no problem staying with the group. I am a non-cyclist and I somehow managed to keep up, but wish I had had an ebike alternative. Otherwise, it was wonderful to see the parts of Versailles most people don’t usually get to see.

What a day! This was excellent because it was an experience based in the fresh air incorporating immersion in current cultural activities, French life, while immersing ourselves in history. All the while connecting with others!! Our guide was direct, informed, open, flexible and involved. His passion was evident. So what are you waiting for, go!

We skipped the huge line to enter the castle thanks to the thoughtful arrangement. We had a deep dive into the local French style picnic which is amazing. The tour is very unique and interesting. Definitely recommend it

Amazing way to explore Versailles: it's a 2000 acre expanse - with out Raechels expert guidance we would not have made sense of the place. Wonderful way to explore Versaille, the palace and the Gardens. To top it all, the group was fun and social

Plus de conseils

This tour runs rain or shine (we do have ponchos in case of rain!) You'll be purchasing a picnic at the market, so it's a good idea to have some extra cash. Dress in light layers. If you book from October to March, we recommend gloves, hats, and scarves.
