Meet us at Catskill Animal Sanctuary in the heart of the Hudson Valley, rich in history, natural beauty, and culture. You’ll be greeted by any one of our trained Tour Guides and our Underfoot Family, a group of animals who are so curious and well-behaved that they are happiest roaming around in a mixed-species herd. Don't be surprised if upon arrival you get up close and personal with Alice the Goat or Mary Frances the Potbelly. On your tour, you will: Stroll the Sanctuary grounds Experience farmed animals as the unique individuals they truly are Meet rescued animals and hear their stories Understand what caring for these amazing animals has taught us Learn about the plight of farmed animals and how you can help The pace is leisurely, with plenty of time for questions and saying hello to the residents. Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a place of love. We believe that looking an animal in the eye and seeing someone — not something — looking back is one of the most profound shifts human beings can make in their understanding of the world and their place in it. We look forward to your visit!
Tour Programs Manager, Kaden, has worked as a Humane Educator for nearly 5 years. They spend their days training the Sanctuary's Tours Team and helping visitors fall in love with chickens and cows - though, the rescued animals do most of the work. When not at the Sanctuary, Kaden enjoys testing new vegan recipes at home, and adding way too much garlic. They live with their many rescued rat companions. Kaden's team includes, Ana, Em, Ethan, Felicia, Julie, Kimberly, Lauren, Nodira, Rebekah, and Rocky.
À propos de l'association
Catskill Animal Sanctuary
Located in New York’s Hudson Valley, Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a 148-acre refuge for farmed animals rescued from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. The Sanctuary is a home for 250 - 350 residents at any given time. Through educational tours and compassionate programming, we advocate veganism as the very best way to end animal suffering, improve our health, and heal our ailing planet.

We'll begin with a brief history of the Sanctuary, then set off to meet our rescued residents and learn their individual rescue stories. Our tour guests often have a chance to belly-rub our pig friends, and meet some rescued roosters who will try to share some of their food with you! After meeting many more friends, your guide will end the tour at our educational center with a Q&A.
