Ce que vous allez faire
After a brief safety overview and description of surrounding water and wetlands, you'll hit the water to take in the wildlife and scenic beauty! First section, The Sam's Creek leg - This mile-long portion takes you down Sam's Creek, a tributary to the marvelous Cumberland River. Paddlers often spot Blue Heron, a variety of song birds, and even Bald Eagles! Depending on how fast you paddle, this first section should take about an hour. Once you reach the main channel of the Cumberland you'll float with the subtle current to "Riverview Marina and Restaurant" for food and drink! This second portion takes about another hour or two and along the way you'll be nestled between large bluffs along a wide portion of the Cumberland River. Also, we'll float by other tributaries great for catching bass, drum, skipjack, and walleye, so bring your fishing pole if you'd like! Once we reach the waterfront restaurant we'll take out boats and I'll take care of the rest. Dining at Riverview is optional, but they have a great outdoor eating area overlooking the water.
I regularly host private paddling events for groups at my waterfront home and have decided to expand hosting to those unable to experience the beautiful rolling hills and abundant nature outside of Nashville, TN! I have completed Swift Water Rescue Training hosted by the Nashville Office of Emergency Management and volunteer for the swimming support portion of the Music City Triathalon as a kayaking first responder. I'm generally versed in the native wildlife and am a contributor to "iNaturalist", which shares contributor findings to large scale scientific data repositories.
