Ce que vous allez faire
At your own pace we'll cover 8KM within almost 2 hours with no rush in order to enjoy the Southern Maltese coastline admiring the Ħaġar Qim Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prepare yourself for a guided tour that will offer a full immersion of nature, amazing views and history. This side of the island is a getaway from the busy city life so it is not to be missed if you are looking to experience the peaceful Southern Maltese sea side. Leaving all the stress behind, we'll go for a run at a comfortable pace, where you'll be able to appreciate the scenery and absorb the historical info I will be divulging along the way. The run along the coastline is mostly a flat, paved promenade. From there we'll move on to the countryside paths which includes the hilly part of the route. However, we will be running at your preferred pace so you'll be able to take a sip of water, have a chat and take some photos of the stunning spots. Highlights of the running tour: - Starting from the village of Żurrieq; - Passing by the Xarolla mill built during the time of the Knights of Malta; - Running along the Blue Grotto promenade; - Admire the little isle Filfla on the horizon; - Passing by Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra temples; - Visiting less touristic spots, mostly known to locals: - Outskirts of Mqabba village; - St. Matthew Chapel; - Ħal Millieri; - Chapel of the Annunciation
Ce qui est inclus
I will carry a half litre bottle of still water for each person
I am an experienced, local runner who's passionate about the history of the island and the Maltese landscape. I took up long distance running roughly five years ago, and in this stretch of time I have explored many remote corners of the island, which are easily missed when one drives around. My passion for running and culture has taken me to different European cities, having completed races in Rome, Manchester, Leeds, Iceland and lately in Bratislava. In total I've completed more than ten half marathons. Having covered quite an amount of literature on the history of Malta, and having visited the majority of the historical sites that this gem has to offer, I can confidently say that I'm well prepared to give guests expert insight into the background of Malta and its people, and where they're coming from, in both English and Italian.

The tour will take us to Ħaġar Qim, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the prehistoric temple located in the South-West of Malta. The views going to the temple are breathtaking, and due to the elevation of this site, the cool sea breeze is almost a guarantee. The less known sites of the Xarolla mill, Ħal Millieri, the Chapel of the Annunciation in tal-Maqluba, Mqabba are just as special in that they're in remote areas, that aren't accessible by car.
