Ce que vous allez faire
You have the choice of making a mosaic mirror, flower pot or stepping stone. You will be provided all the materials you choose to use and will leave with a finished item. If you have an item you want to use in the mosaic, or the item you want to mosaic, you can bring those. You will get one on one assistance from me with instruction and stories about the Art of Mosaic. The experience can last anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours. You can pick your start time. Some people like to take a lunch break and come back to grout. Please ask if a day is not on the calendar and every effort will be made to make it available. The setting is at the Bedrock factory showroom which is funky and filled with creativity and you can feel free to bring drinks and food if you want. It really helps to have some idea of what your design will be before we start and I’m happy to help refine it when you arrive. It’s also good for us to communicate before your class so I can prepare more specifically for your experience.
I'm a Mosaic artist and the Founder of Bedrock Industries, a manufacturer of 100% recycled glass products. I founded Bedrock in 1992 with the mission to create surface products for walls and floors using recycled material. My first product was mosaic flooring called Rubble made from tumbling stone waste. Shortly after that, I invented a process to make a 100% recycled glass tile and several other home and garden products. Bedrock is a unique and steady source of mosaic materials for the Mosaic Art community because of the wide and diverse nature of the collected materials available to the student of Mosaic Art. I have created numerous mosaics from small mirrors to entire floors using materials ranging from stone to glass. You will see my work at our place, The Studio on Sunset Hill. I have taught Mosaic Art for 20 years

The Bedrock factory and showroom is a destination for many folks. The classroom is right in the heart of the showroom which is located on the Lake Washington Ship Canal very close to Fremont and Ballard. I recommend scheduling in the mid morning or mid afternoon so that you can take a break while the mosaic dries for a walk along the Ship Canal Trail, lunch at Fishermans Terminal, also walking distance or a few artisan beers at Hilltop Brewing.
