Au programme

Beautiful bikes, beautiful rides, and all our neighborhood secrets. On our tours we'll smell roses, taste treats, ride across bridges, and along rivers; it's the best way to experience the diversity of culture, art, poetry, nature, parks and neighborhoods in Portland.

Our approach is to spend more time riding, but lots of time stopping at gardens, art installations, sculptures and poetry beaches. We start in the inner Eastside at our shop at 833 SE Main St #120, where we will fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for a 6-10 mile ride.

We head out into Ladd’s Addition, to our fave rose garden, into an art-heavy industrial district, across the sexy Tilikum Bridge, and onto Portland's waterfront. We’ll ride along the water before we head over another bridge back to our shop!

Portland is not just a city of seamless bicycle infrastructure and friendly relations between cyclists and motorists, but also a city of poets. Literally, figuratively, our bike ride is a poem; a series of poems; to our city. We'll read poetry written on murals, in sidewalks, and carved in rocks. There is, too, the whirling poetry of wheels on pavement, the sweet suspension of effort that is cycling on the streets and pathways in this place we love.

Portland mornings are cool -- bring layers! It rains often in Portland; rain jackets are wise. Minimal bike experience is ok; none, is not.

I'm a published writer of essays and professional storyteller, and the narratives around which our tours are based was a collaboration between us, writers and route designers, as a movable narrative, what we call place-based storytelling.

When we create a ride, it is one we as story creators develop out of the places we know intimately and love so we are bursting to share them; and also includes elements that together make up not just the story of Portland, but also the beauty of biking in what a guest called "the most pleasant urban cycling experience" there is.

Great time! I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was beautiful and I learned a lot about Portland. Would totally do it again!

Dustin was personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Learned about Portland and its history and enjoyed being on the bike even in the rain. Loved the murals! Highly recommend this tour and Dustin.

Great tour! Full of sights and information we wouldn’t have gotten to experience otherwise. We wanted to learn about Portland through the eyes of a local and that’s exactly what we got. Everett was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us great recommendations for food. It was fun to spend time with someone showing us what they love about their city. He even customized our tour a bit based on the group’s request. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

We were treated to a tour by Everett, who clearly loves his beautiful city and the things that make it special. We had a great ride with lots of stops as we wished, which in our group meant coffee, treats, roses, views, poetry and art! Plenty of thoughtful conversation, and a super enlightening experience with the heart and soul of Portland. We loved it, through and through.

Everett was our host/tour guide - he couldn't have been better! Passionate, knowledgeable, native to the area, friendly, and adaptable. Some of the places he showed us were places where I've been, but had overlooked all the hidden "treasures" there. I moved to Portland in 2019 and I still feel like a tourist. I feel like I know and appreciate so much more now, thanks to Everett! (Also, the bikes were really user friendly!)
