Relax in our garden house in rural Shropshire. You'll be greeted by curious cats and chickens...and probably Allan and me. There's some fabulous walks, a lovely local and some pretty market towns all within easy reach. There's also plenty to read and lots of interesting CDs to play if you prefer.

Le logement
Our fabulous wooden chalet is completely self contained...and you can come and go as you please.

The chalet comprises a bedroom, a shower room with a loo and a living room. There's also a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and sink.
The bed is a double bed and our chalet is most comfortable with one or two guests.

We like reading and listening to music so you'll find lots of books, and a wall of CDs in the living room. We can guarantee there'll be music that you've never heard before there.
You are, of course, welcome to play the music and read the books but please don't be tempted to take any with you when you leave.

There's no TV, but there's WiFi.

Oh, and do look up...we hope you like our chandelier.

Accès des voyageurs
While you're staying please treat this as your home, we want you to enjoy your stay and be able to relax.
We will show you where everything you need is kept.
Please feel free to wander about the garden, it's very wild and slightly messy. There a picnic table outside if it ever gets warm enough to sit out there...

You'll find a bottle of organic milk in the fridge, and there's some organic butter for your toast, there's tea, coffee and home made jam and marmalade. And a loaf of bread from the local baker as well. We buy bread and cakes from a fabulous local shop in Pontesbury. It's called Hignetts. You can also refill the milk bottle here!

We're sure you will have read most of the same information as we have. We have cleaned everything as thoroughly as possible for you, and us!
Although we failed to get any hand sanitiser, there's plenty of soap - and you'll be pleased to hear, loo roll.
But we don't want to make light of the subject, and we'd all rather stay healthy.

Please read this bit. You need to know what it's like here.

We live in a very rural area.
There is wildlife. There are spiders.
Our garden is wild. We like it like that.
Things are always in a state of slight chaos here so don't expect a manicured lawn.

There are no street lights, or pavements around here. And when it rains it gets muddy.
So, we need to be sure you're happy in rural surroundings...
Please bring your wellies.

We love animals and if you want to bring a dog that may be okay - but we have 6 cats and we don't want them to be chased. We also have belligerent chickens that wander at will. If you can keep your dog on a lead in the garden, that's fine. Please talk to us about it...

Our cats will insist they are allowed in the chalet. If you want to let them in, you do so at your own risk. They are very badly behaved and will steal your food, put muddy paw prints on your bed linen and clothes and cover the place in cat hair. If you leave the bathroom window open more than a tad Polly Garter will come to join you...
You have been warned...

Obviously it's your holiday and your choice of what you want to do but we prefer to host people who want to enjoy the area, the beautiful countryside and the local market towns and hostelries.

Please try to leave things as you find them.

Oh...and there's no hairdryer...

Shrewsbury, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni

Snailbeach is small lead mining village in the heart of the South Shropshire hills.
The miners have long since left, but the Victorian buildings still stand and are looked after by the Shropshire Mines Trust.
From Snailbeach you can explore the Stiperstones, try some splendid real ale in Bishop's Castle or visit Shrewsbury's shops.
Or you can throw caution to the winds and go mountain biking. Bring your own bike!
Shropshire is such a beautiful place it's hard to know where to start describing the best bits. Come to stay, tell us what you like best and we'll point you in the right direction.
Do try to visit our local pub while you're staying, it's great.
You'll find some leaflets about the local area and a very fine book written by a local chap detailing walks all over the county.
Check out Elsie's walk...she was the village post lady and her daughter lives just across the road.
If you're into knitting, there's a Knit'nNatter at the pub on a Tuesday morning (with cake) and some fantastic guerrilla knitting in Bishop's Castle.
And there's also a very good Morris dance team there too...

We're happy to share our local knowledge with you...and delighted if you want to stop for a chat, but don't let us keep you from your own quest.
We have busy lives and we both work, but you are welcome to join us for a glass of wine, a cup of tea or a trip to the pub. We love meeting new people.
