Le logement
The Petrie Tiny House was based on Engineering by Structural Engineer Niall Burke and was completely built by Construction Engineering Technologist James Petrie. There were some changes made to the original designed that were ultimately approved by Mr. Burke. The final design led to improvements such as a lower overall height, a full shower, a lighter structure, and more storage space.
Living Room: The living room has a cathedral ceiling and an abundance of windows with a skylight. The heat source, is a stainless-steel Dickinson Marine Newport Propane Fireplace P9000, and it is located on the living room wall. The unit is fed by a steel lined protected gas line. The fuel consumption starts as low as 1lbs/7hrs to 20lbs/100hrs.
Kitchen: A large sink with a two-element gas burning stove, an exhaust fan, plenty of cabinet and drawer space. An opening through to the stairs leaves a temporary shared table area.
Bathroom: There is a full flush toilet, leading to the city sewer. There is a fan, a neat sink, a storage area, and a thirty-six-inch shower.
Bedroom: The bedroom loft area fits a queen-size bed. At the end of the bed, there is a wooden storage area for clothes.
More Details:
Plumbing: The plumbing was constructed by the most modern methods using pix piping so freezing damage is very unlikely.
Power: The electrical work is 50amp and will accommodate all appliances anyone would normally use.
Fixtures: The modern lights in the kitchen and the bathroom are LED and do not need to be changed or maintained. The living room uses a small CFL light.
Interior Finishes: The interior was finished with oak trim and ultra-light drywall with fiberglass joints.
Exterior Finishes: Red Western British Columbia beveled cedar siding was installed on the building with a three-quarter inch space behind to ensure a lifetime use and better insulation value. The siding was finished with a marine oil.
Roof: The unique red roofing was guaranteed for life from Onduvilla.
Insulation: Commercial-grade fiber backed insulation rated at R22 with an air space was used throughout the building. The insulation is waterproof, and fireproof.

Accès des voyageurs
Next to the tiny house, there is a swimming pool, a fireplace, tables umbrella and chairs. The swimming pool is seasonal so it will be closed by October 1st and opened by May 1st of each year. This property is not wheelchair accessible so if a person has any trouble getting around or walking up or down a steep grade this is not the tiny house for you.

Autres remarques
You will be staying only one mile from downtown Cary where there are restaurants, parks, stores and even a movie theater.

The neighborhood homes were built in 1974 while the tiny house is two years old. It is a quiet neighborhood in a modern town with plenty of activities available. There is a down town movie theater, lots of restaurants and many activities going on all year around.
