This cosy, detached, stone holiday cottage dates back to 1640. Located in Eyam village, it has been beautifully converted retaining stunning beams with modern furnishings.
Perfect base in the Peak District for couples who love the outdoors with great walking and cycling on the doorstep.
The space sleeps 2 people - there is a galleried sitting room and bedroom with a double bed, a shower room and a kitchen area. There is private parking in a designated private driveway as well as cycle parking.

Le logement

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included.
The cottage is light and airy and next to the garden.
Guests have access through their own front door and are independent from the main house which is across a small lane. Parking available for one car.

The stairs are wooden and steep and may cause difficulty for those with mobility issues.
The cottage does have WiFi but it is not reliable if you are wanting to work due to the thickness of the walls.

If your stay is longer than one night we may need to access the washing machine but will do our very best to respect your privacy and try to restrict this to times when you are out.
Guests are welcome to relax in the beautiful garden, which we share. The cottage is extremely comfortable, light and airy, beautiful views, ideal location for Buxton, Bakewell, Sheffield city and the Peak District.

Peak District, Eyam, Angleterre, Royaume-Uni

One of the Peak District’s most historic and best preserved villages, Eyam is best known as the Plague village and makes a great base. The village itself is home to quaint local and independently run shops, tea rooms and a village pub which is reputed to be one of the most haunted buildings in Derbyshire. Great food and local beers available at the pubs in the area including The Miners, The Moon Inn at Stoney Middleton, The Barrell at Bretton and The Bulls Head in Foolow which is brilliant.

The surrounding area offers plentiful walking and cycling in the stunning Hope Valley countryside, and other local villages just 10 minutes away include Tideswell, with its remarkable church known as the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’, and Hathersage, home to one of the few remaining open air swimming pools. The magnificent historic houses of Eyam Hall, Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall can all be reached in under 15 minutes, and Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle in around 40 minutes. The bustling market town of Bakewell, famous for its tarts and puddings is just 15 minutes away and Buxton with its opera house or Matlock Bath with its cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham is just half an hour away. For the ultimate adrenalin rush, Alton Towers can be reached within an hour. For those wanting to give their cars a rest, Grindleford, five minutes, and Hathersage, both have train links to Sheffield and Manchester city centre, and Eyam is well served with regular bus services from Sheffield, Buxton and Chesterfield.
