Lofted, treehouse-style bedroom in amazing 2000 sqft factory loft. Hardwood floors, lots of windows (and plants). Just a short walk from Fishtown bars and restaurants, and right next to a subway stop that can take you most anywhere in the city.

This room is accessed by a tall ladder and has 2 beds. One double with a memory foam mattress, and one twin.

Le logement
With nearly 30ft ceilings, this space always draws a reaction from new visitors when they enter. While you can't see everything in the photos, there are actually 4 bedrooms--two on the ground floor, and two that are lofted above the common area in a very treehouse-like manner (including the one listed here).
Note: you will be sharing the space with other roommates or guests, all in separate bedrooms. We/they all tend to be easy-going and have varying schedules or travel a lot, so we may or may not be here while you are.

Accès des voyageurs
You'll have access to your bedroom and all the common area including kitchen, bathroom, living area, and the "plant area". There is a washer/dryer and iron you're free to use as well.
Currently, there's no cable TV--only internet. There is, however, a big screen TV you can plug your laptop into (if it has an HDMI port) for larger viewing of Netflix etc.

On hot days, this room and common area can get very warm. There is no central A/C, and while there is a good amount of wind-flow from all the open windows, if you're particularly sensitive to heat/humidity, you might be uncomfortable.

This bedroom is lofted, so accessing it will require climbing a nearly 20ft ladder. So, if you're not a fan of heights, this room is probably not for you.

Also, the apartment itself is on the 3rd floor of a large factory building. There is no elevator, so some stair-climbing is required.

There may be other guests staying in another bedroom at the same time as you. That said, in over 200+ rentals, I've never once had an issue with any guests. My place tends to attract chill, respectful people, who are often out of the apartment anyway, so sharing the common space won't be an issue.

*The city of Philadelphia now adds a sales tax onto all Airbnb reservations, so your final cost will be a bit higher than you see here. This is true with all listings in Philly. Just a heads up.

My place is right on the border of East Kensington and Fishtown neighborhoods, both of which have tons of activity and development. Pretty much every month, some new restaurant or shop opens, so it’s an exciting place to be. Recently, Forbes magazine even named Fishtown, “America's Hottest New Neighborhood.”

If you’re familiar with Brooklyn, particularly Bushwick & Williamsburg, my area will feel very familiar. It’s not the cleanest or “prettiest” neighborhood in the world, but it’s amazingly fun, bustling with creativity and activity. There’s tons of great restaurants/bars, coffee, breweries, music venues, and independently-owned shops, all within a short walk. It’s safe to walk day and night, and it's surprisingly calm/quiet, especially at nighttime (the occasional motorcycle or car blasting dubstep passes by, but that’s about it). I love it, and I think you will too.

For exploring other parts of the city, you can hop on the MFL subway at Berks Station, literally right outside my building (don’t worry, you can’t hear it in the apartment).

Pendant votre séjour
I'm always happy to make recommendations, chat, and possibly even show you around if my schedule allows. But, being an independent traveler myself, I also totally understand if you prefer to just do your thing :)
