A sweet cottage with waterfall and creek view.
It’s a well equipped cozy nest to rest & read. You can put up the hammock in the living room and just relax all day. Set up your laptop in the dining nook and watch the birds as you work, or just unplug and nap on the couch.
A great home base to come back to after short trips to nature, hiking, skiing or just walking up to town to the bookstore for a game of chess and a cappuccino,. Whatever you choose to do, I hope you go home refreshed!

Le logement
My little home is perched on a cliff 30 feet above the Esopus Creek with a great view of a large waterfall -its soothing sounds add to the ambience.. The table nook looks out on the creek and gets the morning sun - Summer or winter- it’s a great place to sit and watch ducks or an occasional heron fly by, or even a bald eagle!
I’m a cook, so the kitchen, though small, is fairly well equipped and there’s a push button espresso machine .

If it’s summer, and you have a kayak ( and a life jacket) you can carry it down the stairs to the creek and paddle out to the Saugerties Lighthouse and the Hudson River. You will see many other “yakkers”.

Also in the summer- the back lower deck has a private cedar outdoor shower, lounge chairs and a table & chairs.
There’s also a gas grill and a fire pit. Please make sure to shut off the gas after you grill.

Even though it’s a short walk to all the shops, bars & restaurants Saugerties has to offer, it’s got the privacy and closeness to nature of a treehouse.

Accès des voyageurs
The entire house is accessible except for a couple of locked areas where I have my personal stuff.
Feel free to use any food items on a use and replace basis.

Autres remarques
My house has a big screen TV, a push button espresso machine, lots of great books, many classic board games, a gas fireplace , a small record collection and a nice turntable. Please enjoy it all, but please be gentle with my things and treat them as your own.
I understand things happen, but I would appreciate if you let me know if anything breaks. Thanks!

The closest restaurants and bars are a very short walk away, just at the top of Dock St. Where it hits Partition St. (just one long block)
Diamond Mills Hotel, Tavern & Restaurant and Black Eyed Susie’s Upstate.
Black Eyed Suzie’s has delicious locavore food , home made desserts & drinks and also does take-away.
Diamond Mills Hotel has a Tavern with happy hour specials and they have a large restaurant- not sure if it’s any good. It’s had mixed reviews. Sometimes they also have special events such as brunch. Check their website.
The village is a 5-10 min walk up the hill
And there are many good restaurants,
shops ,bars, 2 bookstores, pizza places, a diner, health food store,a pharmacy., a hardware store, antique stores, tattoo shops, movie theatre and more.

I'm the retired chef/owner of Lucky Chocolates- the wonderful chocolate shop behind 115 Partition Street. The Loft is my first Airbnb and now i also rent out my current home on Dock St in the winter, and my Florida home in the summer.. I created the Loft for myself, but found a great house nearbye where my dog and I could have a bit more privacy and room. I love my job- but living upstairs from work was getting old. I now live a 10 minute walk from my shop & the Loft with my dog Trixie in the spring, summer & fall. Now that I’m retired we head down to the Florida Gulf Coast for the cold winter months. I love Saugerties. It's the best place i ever landed and I'm here for good- except trips to Europe, winters in Florida and to visit friends who live elsewhere! It's a pretty dog friendly town too. I enjoy being able to walk to the movies, have a drink or dinner and hang out with my friends or go to the Lighthouse. It's got everything I need in one small area. I love cooking & food , reading, Korean Dramas & KPop, 30's jazz, NPR, audio books, fuzzy faced Terriers, Dogs, good stories, Italy, Crete, Spanish siestas , riding my bike , drawing & painting, Scrabble & games, crosswords ,writing, ceramics, walking, boxing, most things British, films, stupid TV shows like Brooklyn 99 and The Goldbergs, and gardening . Since I retired I’ve gone back to painting - and lately, during the Covid19 Crisis I painted every day for 2 months. It’s a series called The Daily Mouse, Tails from the Crisis. You can see them all @rstang13 And it will soon be a book. Looking forward to meeting you and having you as my guest. If there's anything I can help you do or find- i'll be glad to help- even if I’m not here physically . Just contact me on the Airbnb app and I’ll reply quickly.
