Kaanapali Shores resort is first-rate with well-manicured gardens, pools, hot tubs, a great fitness center, saunas, spa, gift and convenience shops, pool side restaurant and bar featuring Polynesian shows, covered parking*, tennis, shuffle, and pickleball courts.

A major grocery store, restaurants, even a jazz bar, Subway, pancake restaurant and urgent care are literally steps away, just across the street. There is even a Farmer’s Market just up the road.

Kaanapali Shores’ location is perfect with gently blowing trade winds and breathtaking sunsets you will remember for a lifetime.
Cook your own meals in our fully equipped kitchen, the resort barbeque grills, or visit the poolside restaurant. Or go local across the street or dine at the many restaurants along Kaanapali beach or in Lahaina Town, just a short drive away (my favorite is the Paia Fish Market!).

Enjoy our fully air conditioned, modern, well-equipped, clean condominium with all the obvious necessities: microwave oven, stove, refrigerator with ice maker, garbage disposal, toaster, coffee maker, washing machine, dryer and my favorite: a real, good-sized tea pot! Lots of pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, bowls, and all of my wife’s favorite spices!

Our master bedroom features a king bed for extra comfort and privacy. Two queen size sofa beds offer extra nighttime comfort for additional guests and children. There are even some essentials like a beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and pool toys to make your oceanfront resort experience even better.

Of course, the resort has many poolside and oceanside lounges, tables, and chairs plus large areas to practice soccer, play catch or even pitch beanbags. There is a comfortable reading area and book exchange next to the coffee kiosk and tour desk in the lobby. Or, pass the time in the condominium with TVs in the living and bedroom room, PS4 video games, Blu-ray DVD, and no-cost wireless internet!

Drive up through a generous entry drive to the modern, well-appointed reception area. We are just two condos down from the elevator on the 5th floor making it one of the shortest times to the pools, beach and gardens while offering quiet, privacy and marvelous ocean and island views.

Kaanapali Shores is right in the center of it all, including surfing, paddle boarding, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, or just relaxing on the beach. Book tours or go it on your own to all Maui has to offer – Haleakala (inactive) volcano, upcountry farms and winery, Paia windsurfing, the ever-challenging road to Hana, and that is just the beginning to discover the wonders of this magic Valley Isle. *If you need to rent a car, there is a $9 per day parking fee, far less expensive than other resorts in the area.
The Kaanapali Fitness Center is located within the resort. It has treadmills, elliptical, stationary bicycles, work out stations, and free weights plus men and women’s sauna, shower and changing rooms. Membership is $10 per day, $35 per week and $50 per month. Inquire at the Puamana Day Spa also within the resort. The spa offers therapeutic massage, skin care and other treatments.

There is a 14.41% General Excise Tax (GET) and Transit Accommodation Tax (TAT) that will be collected by us at check in. Note that Airbnb does not collect the tax for Hawaii. The invoice will be in the condo when you arrive and the amount of tax for your stay will be in the message we send a few days before your arrival. Payment instructions are on the invoice.

You will have full access via a combination lock on the condominium plus access to all the resort offers. There is a separate charge for the gym payable at the spa in the resort. Plus, the resort charges a $9/day parking fee. There are no additional resort fees.

Ka’anapali Shores Beach
The size of the beach in front of Ka’anapali Shores varies with the time of year, ocean swells, and tides. It extends across the width of the resort and is a wonderful location for sunsets. The longer, wider Ka’anapali Beach is just a short walk south of the resort or you can drive just two streets south of the resort and park in the Honoapiilani beach parking lot. From there, the much wider beach extends all the way to the famous Airport Beach Park and Black Rock. It is a beautiful walk both on the “boardwalk” and along the beach. Swim, snorkel, body board or just relax. There are many access points and outside showers to use to and from the beach. There are several resorts along the way. And Dukes is a very good restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Kaanapali is one of the top beach destinations in the world. Kaanapali Shores is at the north end next to Honokawai. The area has wonderful trade wind breezes and is significantly cooler than Lahaina Town located a few miles to the south. Most everything one needs to live is available in the local area even without a car. Of course, we recommend a rental car or tours if you want to see more of what Maui has to offer. But, this neighborhood is complete and offers a wonderful vacation experience just staying local and relaxing.

Greetings and Aloha! We are a retired couple and live between Colorado and Maui. We have property we vacation rent in both places. I was an aerospace program manager and business development consultant. My wife, Hannelore, is from Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria (Germany) and loves to cook, take long walks, and enjoy nature. We enjoy the best of both worlds – the world class beaches of Ka’anapali on Maui and the rugged beauty of Colorado Springs and the Arkansas Valley Buena Vista, Salida and Mt. Princeton attractions. Fortunately, our family is also living in Colorado and Maui, so we get to be with them in both places. We own the Mt. Princeton property with our daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Tim, in Colorado and son Eric and his wife, Lisa on Maui are in real estate and help us with the condo on Ka’anapali Beach. We have seven wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 11 to 29 years of age. We have enjoyed our Mt.Princeton property for many years and it has never been lived in full time. The condo in Maui is in a very popular resort very close to Eric and Lisa’s home. We hope you will enjoy your vacation whether you chose Maui or Colorado, or maybe both.
