A pocket of peace just outside city limits. Tiny Home sits on hill overlooking two-acre organic farm, sustainable nursery, meadows and surrounding mountains. Feels like you're in the country, yet you're a 10-15 min drive from the eclectic downtown, famous Biltmore, and arts districts. The pine-cedar paneled 8'x24' house is bright and sunny with high ceilings. Full-size bath/tub. Comfy queen-size bed. Full-size mattress in loft. Well-equipped kitchen. Composting toilet. High sanitation standards.

Le logement
Whether you'd like a unique place to stay while exploring Asheville, or are seeking a therapeutic and educational farm retreat, this place suits all types of needs. While Asheville is well-known for its restaurants (which you should definitely explore), this region also has many exceptional small farms, and you're staying at one of them! (Called M. R. Gardens). We offer the option for guests to purchase a seasonal harvest, which we'll send you information about upon booking. Don't be afraid to cook in the small space, which most people remark is more spacious than they expected. In addition to the fully equipped kitchen, you have access to a new propane grill outside. For those interested in learning more about sustainable gardening, we also offer tours, classes, workshops and retreat experiences.

Accès des voyageurs
We hope your outdoor experience is just as much as part of your stay as your indoor one. A seating area with Adirondack chairs overlooks the property and surrounding hills. From there, you are welcome to walk the mowed path for a full view of the mountains. We can also set up a hammock under the trees next to the red barn. If you're interested in seeing the rest of the property, which includes a passive solar greenhouse, organic vegetable beds, a forest garden with fruit trees, and meadows with native plants, we ask that you set up an appointment for a tour. Note that the greenhouse is open to the public some days late March through early June and again in September, but the traffic is light and shouldn't disturb you.

Autres remarques
We stock the kitchen with organic snacks and the bathroom with all natural shampoos and soaps.

Guests must be willing to use the composting toilet properly. That means everyone must always sit to use the toilet. We provide explanations and written directions on the rest.

NO SMOKING of anything under any circumstances. No candles, incense or open flames of any sort please.

We enjoy it when children stay here, but if they're under the age of 7 and in the loft, a parent should sleep next to them. We currently don't have a guardrail in the loft. Children under 5 should stay on the main floor and not climb the ladder.

Please don't sit on the fold-down table because it is not strong enough.

Please wash any dishes you use, as well as the outside propane grill if you use it. (We provide directions on how).

Not suitable for pets.

Please respect the peace and quiet of our neighborhood. No parties.

OUR SANITATION PROCEDURES
We follow Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. That includes:
-Sanitizing all high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob;
-Using cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and wearing protective gear while cleaning;
-Following extensive cleaning checklists;
-Providing extra supplies so you can clean as you stay if you wish;
-Complying with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines.
We have your best interest at heart!

We're a friendly neighborhood with lots of walkers. Access to the Mountains to Sea trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway is a five minute drive away. We're in easy driving distance from all that Western North Carolina has to offer—hiking, biking, paddling, zip-lining and other outdoor adventures, not to mention yoga studios, spas and healing arts. Almost all guests love our location because our quaint neighborhood and small farm offer the feel of the country, yet we're just a couple minute drive from stores and breweries, and another 10-15 minutes to downtown and other major attractions. If you're looking for a location in walking distance to bars, or for complete seclusion in the woods, then you'll likely find other places more suited for your needs than our small urban farm.

Most of my time lately is spent running my small farm and edible and native landscaping business. I am a garden coach and have a sustainable plant nursery with a unique passive solar greenhouse. The two-acre educational farm has organic vegetables; meadows and naturalized landscaping with native and medicinal plants; and forest gardens, which means fruit trees are intertwined with other plants and groundcovers for optimal health. I have on-site classes and tours, and tiny home guests are welcome to take advantage of these opportunities upon advanced notice. I enjoy getting to know people from all walks of life. In my 20s, traveling was a big part of my life, and I was lucky to experience a lot of the country and explored a fair amount abroad as well. Australia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the deserts of Utah (particularly Escalante) are some of my favorite memories. I also lived and worked at an eco-resort in St. John USVI for a half of a year. Now, my vacations are typically for peace and quiet to recover from a busy growing season, but I enjoy hearing about other people's adventures. I love how life has taken me full circle, and now I can help bring to others all that traveling once gave to me.

Pendant votre séjour
Throughout your experience, you'll most likely be communicating with me (Megan), the owner of the farm, but I occasionally ask other hosts to help. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and talking about traveling. But the amount we interact depends on your preference as well as what else needs my attention at the farm. While my business keeps me active all four seasons, April and May are exceptionally busy. If I can't attend to any needs that arise, then a co-host will. I occasionally use the propane grill that is outside the tiny home. On a rare occasion, I'll light up the fire pit for a small gathering of friends, which I'll warn you about ahead of time and invite you.
