Le logement

The multiple HDMI input Smart TV serves as a monitor for a dedicated desktop computer, wireless mouse & keyboard. Guests can log in, work, wsuburban housing development contractor areasatch videos, and access all their accounts (delete history at departure) from the Rose Room or the Entertainment Room. The printer is wireless and stocked with lots of paper and extra cartridges. The bathroom is tiled in luxurious no-slip tiles and designed to thwart clutter. The shower has a comfortable bench seat and full water pressure. The hand-held shower handle has its flow restriction device (required in hotels) removed (be considerate and not wasteful). Step out onto a soft cotton floor mat. No need to squeegee any glass panels, since a freshly washed curtain is provided.

The driveway is steep and leads up to a spacious parking pad in front of a three-car garage. Guest parking is narrow, but only 15' from the front door. The entire home is being progressively remodeled but no work is currently scheduled. A fourth bedroom is curtained off and currently used for storage.
A mini-fridge stocked with bottled drinks is located within easy reach outside the sliding glass door. It's placed outside to prevent compressor noise from disturbing one's sleep. A Keurig is provided with multiple coffee flavors, teas. Fill carafe from filtered water at kitchen sink. An instant-on water faucet dispenses ultra hot filtered water for making big pots of coffee or tea.
Allergic guests beware: a kitten might be in residence.

Où se situe le logement

West Covina, Californie, États-Unis

The property is freeway close, but secluded due to its driveway (which also acts to discourage thieves). A single entry point for the entire neighborhood tract enhances safety from random crimes. Some family members like to walk down to the shopping center for exercise. Target, Walmart, 30+ restaurants are only a mile away.
Our hillside and private hilltop area are natural. It has squirrels, skunks, coyotes, reptiles, insects, spiders and birds. Hummingbirds often visit our feeders. Peacocks call from their home on a nearby hill. Bugs crawl into the house on occasion. Ants haven't been a problem since the yard was treated five years ago, but they could reappear any time. (SoCal has big problems with Argentinian ants.)
Dogs over 40 lbs are safe from coyotes which are always on the prowl. Small dogs must be watched or kept indoors; many neighbors have lost their pets. If you travel with your cat, you MUST keep it indoors. Coyotes don't approach humans, but you could see one any time of the day or night. There are no mountain lions or black bears due to restricted habitat. Skunks come out at sunset. They aren't aggressive, but avoid walking in the dark without a flashlight, and don't leave food outside.

I am a married non-smoker, and mother of two adult sons. I grew up in California, have a BA in Biology from Revelle (UCSD). I spent 2+ years studying pharmacology in graduate school at UCI, and 2+ years studying electronics at DeVry, but have never worked in either field. The last paid work I did was tutoring calculus. My politics are liberal and I don't believe cannabis, alcohol and drugs are inherently evil. I do believe in evidence-based (scientific) thinking, women's rights, saving habitats for non-human species (thereby our own as well), and recycling. So, not a typical Alabaman. I live here because my better half has a job here that he really likes. His name is Jim, and I am literally (yes, I know what literal means) grateful on a daily basis that I had the good sense to marry him. We usually read two or three books a week. For Friday night excitement, we go to Barnes & Noble where I peruse the paranormal romances, fantasy and sci-fi sections while he looks at sci-fi and nonfiction. My favorite is the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell Hamilton. My dream job would be an editor for a publisher's paranormal romance division, because that genre desperately needs editing, and I am a spelling and grammar nazi. Don't ever give me a sample of your writing to proof unless you have a strong ego. I have a fondness for Siamese cats (one in particular), but enjoy all mammals. In 2014, a nerve in my heart died, so now I have a pacemaker. I didn't have a heart attack, but a tibial injury in 2008 keeps me from biking or taking extended walks. For exercise, I restrain myself from criticizing other people's bad grammar and misspellings. I like to travel, camp in national parks, try new restaurants and review them on Yelp!, repair broken things, and solve sudoku and kenken puzzles. When I travel, I like to leave no trace of my having been there... other than the occasional repaired lamp. I don't use any social media. Instead I call, e-mail, and text. My current challenges are to rid our house of excessive books and finish home remodeling.
