Lovely suite, close to Miriam Hospital, Brown & RISD, on the East Side! You have the entire second floor to yourself, with private entrance & bath, sitting area, WiFi/cable & off-street parking. There's a small fridge, microwave, Continental breakfast, beverages, snacks & dishes provided. *Cancellation policy is more flexible than Airbnb settings allow—please inquire!* Rollaway beds provided upon request. Hope St’s a pleasant, safe 7 min walk, & has shops, cafes, & bus to Brown/RISD (3 stops).

Le logement
My partner Don & I & our dog Okie look forward to welcoming you to our home! The house is on the East Side of Providence & very close to Miriam Hospital (7 min walk/2 min drive), and approx. 1.3 miles to Brown Univ. campus (7 min drive/30 min walk). **Please note: times/distances depend on where on campus you need to go. **

The East Side of Providence is safe, quiet, and tree-lined, with block after block of lovely older homes. Cafes & shops are within easy walking distance on Hope Street, and the #2 Bus runs on Hope St all day and evening to Brown/RISD & Downtown. Buses run along North Main Street too. Uber and Lyft are plentiful & inexpensive here; cost to Brown/RISD are around $6.

Your suite is completely private, located on the 2nd floor & nobody else will be staying there. My partner Don & I live downstairs in the main part of the house. The neighborhood is safe, quiet & walkable. Amenities include Continental breakfast (juice, coffee, tea, cereal), off street parking, private entrance, easy check in with lockbox entry, private bath, free WiFi & cable TV.

**We can provide a rollaway twin bed or two if you need to accommodate a family. Please give us advance warning, though!**w

Où se situe le logement

Providence, Rhode Island, États-Unis

Located in the Summit neighborhood on Providence’s lovely and safe East Side, our home is near Miriam Hospital, Brown University, RISD, and many shops and cafes along both North Main and Hope Streets.
We also have an excellent Hawaiian poke shop very nearby on Camp Street, called Hometown Poke. Rebelle Artisan bagels is Alain in Camp St.

We are 1/3 mile up Edgehill road to Hope Street. Where there are:

Food/drink/yoga/shops: CVS, banks, Seven Stars Bakery, Wara Wara Asian fusion restaurant, the Ivy Tavern, Apsara Thai food, Wings Over Providence (excellent wings!), a public library, a couple of yoga places, a kosher deli, a bike shop, Not Just Spices Indian snacks and bakery, Frog and Toad gifts, little sister bakery, Pizzaco and Hope street pizza, Kreatelier gifts and fabrics, several clothing stores, a terrific toy store called Henry Bear’s Park, a gas station—the list goes on!

From Hope street it’s another easy 1/2 mile walk to the wonderful Lippitt Park Farmers market which runs May through October, and additional restaurants located there—Three Sisters Gourmet ice cream, Chez Pascal (best French restaurant in town), Wurst Kitchen (homemade sausages), India restaurant, and just beyond that on Hope in a small shopping center are fantastic vegan and vegetarian cafes: Wildflour gluten-free, vegan bakery; Rasoi Indian restaurant; and Garden Grill vegetarian cafe.

Transportation: the #2 RIPTA bus stops along Hope Street and goes down Thayer Street through the upper part of Brown campus, before turning west to Kennedy Plaza/Downtown, and then goes to TF Green Airport. The RIPTA R bus runs to and from downtown along North Main.

1/4 mile down Edgehill Road is North Main Street, where you’ll find:

Food/drink/medical care: The Parlour (best love music and great bar pizzas) , Providence Bagels, Greenline Apothecary & Pharmacy, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Nicole’s Liquors, Whole Foods, McDonald’s, Gregg’s Family Restaurant, The Sandwich Hut, Staples, Starbucks, LA Fitness, and East Side Urgent Care.

Down Hope the road forks is to the right onto Thayer Street, home to several restaurants and shops and the Brown and RISD campuses.

If you continue on Hope to the left at the fork, there are lots of good cafes and shops in Fox Point and along Wickenden. (Tallulah’s Tacqueria, Persimmon, Dolores, Like No Udder vegan ice cream, Silver Star Bakery, Blue Star Coffee, The Shop coffee shop, Knead Doughnuts, Olympic Record shop)

If you go down Hope and turn left at Lloyd and right at Wayland you’ll come to Wayland Square, with even more neat cafes and shops including Books on the Square (where VP Harris shopped in Providence this year!), L’Artisan Bakery Cafe, Pasta Beach, Red Stripe Bistro, and an Irish pub).

I'm a writer and editor, and I enjoy traveling, singing harmonies in a band, and hosting house concerts. I live with my partner Don who is a writer who enjoys flying small planes, soccer, and visiting his sons in New York. We have a sweet little Bichon Frise puppy named Okie. We both love hosting guests from around the world in our home. Welcome to Providence!
