Rustic, off grid (no electricity) timber framed cabin nestled in the hills 5 minutes from Kingdom Trails mountain bike network and Burke Mountain bike park! Our cabin sits in a meadow surrounded by wildflowers and adjacent to a small apple orchard. You'll have beautiful views of Burke Mountain with a short walk up the hill and 38 acres to explore. We have an outdoor fire pit, lawn games and a composting toilet close by. Come enjoy this magical place with your friends and family!

Le logement
The cabin sits on the edge of a wooded forest and an open meadow. Parking is right next to the cabin. The cabin was hand built with traditional tools and using a mortise and tenon technique. The lumber (flooring, siding, shelving and bar tops) was milled right from the land. The cabin gets a lot of day time sun and offers spectacular star gazing on a clear night. There is an open space for outdoor fires, lawn games and enjoyed a cold beverage after a long bike ride, hike, or swim. 1/2 mile down the road is a secret, small swimming hole with a water fall.

Accès des voyageurs
Access to the entire cabin, a composting toilet near by and the meadow are for cabin guests only. You may see some guests who are staying at a yurt, down the hill, who may walk up to take in the view at the top of the hill. Make sure to say hello, or enjoy a brew together. But don't worry the yurt and cabin are far enough away that can't see each other and can both enjoy the solitude of nature and the remoteness of the Northeast Kingdom!

Autres remarques
The road to cabin is almost 1/2 mile. Guests should drive slowly (5mph max) as the road can be bumpy in places and winds through the woods. You will drive right past the yurt (another booking) so please be mindful and courteous of others. It is important to respect their space as well.

You will be sharing the woods with our local neighbors - birds, squirrels, deer, and maybe a rare sighting of a bob cat or bear! Please be respectful and thoughtful about interacting with nature.
This is a rural community but there are neighbors and farms adjacent to the property as well as a yurt down the hill that people also rent. Please be respectful of these people and be mindful of your noise after quiet hours.

I love people. I work with adults who have intellectual disabilities in the Burlington VT area. But when I am not working I love to be outside. Hiking, Biking, Rock Climbing; you name it I want to do it, if its outside. I also like to garden and read a good book in a hammock. This is why the property is so great in Burke. I head over there whenever possible and do all of the things I listed above. I am glad that I can share this slice of heaven with others! My favorite place that I have ever been is New Zealand, I recommended to everyone as it has everything, literally. Mountains, surf, rolling fields, vineyards, tropics, glaciers! So many sheep! And the people are absolutely wonderful. After staying at the yurt your next trip should be to New Zealand; hands down the most beautiful place I have ever been. I love to read just about anything, but when I need an escape its always fantasy! I'll eat just about anything and always try something once; my guilty pleasure is pasta with just butter and cheese, never gets old. Live music inspires me. Yoga keeps me limber, and meditation keeps me focused and people keep me grounded. Please reach out with any questions or concerns. Looking forward to hearing from you! Best, Kelsey
