Notre adorable studio est une suite entièrement privée au rez-de-chaussée de l'historique Wallowa Lake Inn - ce qui était autrefois un bed & breakfast est maintenant 2 locations de vacances séparées. La communauté de Wallowa Lake est nichée au pied des monts Wallowa et est assise à la tête du lac Wallowa, le joyau de la couronne que vous voyez sur la plupart des photos et descriptions de notre zone spéciale.

La suite patio Wallowa Lake Inn est parfaitement située au cœur de l'activité. We grew up in small southwest Kansas towns 25 miles apart and did not meet until college. In June 1967 Dan graduated from the University of Kansas one weekend, Joyce graduated from Emporia State a second weekend, and our wedding was on the third. In August, we moved to southeast Washington where Dan began graduate school at Washington State and Joyce began her teaching career in Clarkston. The following summer, we lived in Glacier National Park while Dan did research on Bighorn Sheep. Dan’s research was interrupted by military service in Vietnam. While he was in and around Saigon, Joyce taught in Dan's hometown. Upon his return from Vietnam, we returned to Glacier, Dan resumed his research while Joyce taught on the Blackfoot Reservation. The summer was beautiful but the winter was brutal. Following a third summer with the Bighorns, we returned to WSU for final coursework. Dan was a biology teaching assistant and was honored as the department’s outstanding TA of the year and Joyce was the outstanding young mother of our first son. With coursework finished, Dan was hired as a Ranger Naturalist in Yellowstone National Park. That fall he started teaching in Idaho Falls. We summered in Yellowstone for eight years while teaching in the winter. The fourth year we and our two sons moved to Moscow, ID. Shortly thereafter Joyce began teaching and serving as the assistant director of the WSU Childrens Center. In the, winter Dan taught in twenty years in secondary schools and for ten years he worked with a University of Idaho professor to establish a two seek Science and Engineering Camp similar to NASA Space Camps at the university. Dan was privileged to attend a NASA teacher’s workshop and attended the first encounter conferences for Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. (We were invited to attend the 50th anniversary of Apollo’s lunar landing as members of Werner Von Braun family.) School financial problems presented Dan the opportunity to retire early. He accepted the retirement bonus one morning; that afternoon he was informed that a national organization was honoring him as the 2002 biology teacher of the year. That fall we invested in our first property at Wallowa Lake. Joyce retired five years later. We now have our own three units and shares in the ownership of the Historic Wallowa Lake Lodge. We love this area and its people. That said, we also enjoy expanding our knowledge of this planet by traveling; five continents so far. All the people we get to interact with add to our enjoyment of life. We hope the same is true for you.
