Sea & Stone Chalet is simple, rustic and charming offering a unique human-nature experience. Perched on the edge of a lush green mountain in Barra da Lagoa, the breathtaking sea views, plants, turquoise water canal and a charismatic fishing culture provides the perfect scenery for inspiration to flow & creativity to grow. The atmosphere is perfect for nature enthusiasts, adventurous couples and people looking for disconnection from the chaos. Only ten minutes walk to the beach, shops & transport

Le logement
The breezy wooden chalet is raised on pillars above a landscape of natural stone with an open balcony to enjoy the fresh flowing air up in the trees. The living elements create the magic off the property - plants, natural light, recycled natural decor and a water canal flowing into the open sea provides the perfect setting for folks to reconnect with nature and be inspired for adventure.

You will have the entire property for yourself (252,000m²). The Chalet is small but very cozy with everything needed to feel comfortable. The floor plan is a kitchenette style where the bedroom, living room and kitchen are in the same environment. The only separate place is the bathroom.

- The Chalet contains a double-bed with mosquito net, fridge, oven/stove, sink, table with two chairs and all cooking essentials to create a homely meal. Coffee, salt, sugar is offered complimentary.
- The front terrain presents an area of large un-touched stones framed by plants, and two beautiful trees. The stones retain a special energy and lying here connecting with nature's elements is something really special. Watch the sunrise over the mountains edge with the song of the birds and fishing boats heading out to sea, or enjoy a cool drink as the sunset reflects into the long stretch of beach below. It's also the ideal spot for sunbathing and watching the water activities happening below. Peeling waves, surfers, fishermen, snorkelling, paddle boarders, kayakers and all-round good vibes that this charismatic town has to offer, all at the comfort of your own private yard.
- The balcony of the chalet frames the front of the house, furnished with 2 chairs and a small table to enjoy your morning coffee.
- The backyard is nice for relaxing under the trees and spotting the wild birds and monkeys which often come to visit. (please do not feed the monkeys)
- The property has a cosy private bathroom separated 2 metres from the chalet, it is not attached to the chalet offering more privacy and space. Decorated with a reclaimed wooden mirror, wooden shelves to hold all your toiletries and succulents to purify the air. There is a large glass window, with expansive (but private) views of the trees and mountains.

About the location:
A water canal divides us from the noise and of downtown, Barra Da Lagoa . With no roads on the mountain side, you can only access the chalet by walking a public footpath which windes through the mountains community. View to the green hills, colourful Azorean houses and friendly local people make the walk a pleasurable experience.

The beach, main bus terminal, restaurants, bars and shops are all within 10 minutes walking distance. The chalet is not recommended for people with walking mobilities or very poor fitness. The path is not 100% sturdy and you will need to walk up 3 sets of stairs to arrive. Large suitcases and heavy gear is not recommended.

Barra da Lagoa Beach is based on the east coast of Santa Catarina Island, about 13 miles (22 kilometers) from the center of Florianopolis. There is a regular bus service from the city, and Barra da Lagoa’s bus terminal is next to the beach and your arrival point to walk to the Chalet. If you drive or go by taxi, the ride should take around 45 minutes from the airport and city centre.

The islands famous hiking trail 'Trilha Boa Vista’ is only a 5 minute walk from the chalet. The trail provides 2 hours of incredible views of the entire surrounding Island and leads you to two iconic beaches Galheta and Praia Mole, both stunning with some of the best surf on the island.

Other Places to Visit:
- 20 minutes walk to the Natural Swimming Pools, a must see.
- 2 minute walk to the open water canal: for surfers you can paddle directly across the water canal into the open sea.
- 8 minutes drive to Praia Mole - Surfers haven, great bars
- 15 minute drive to Praia Joaquina - Surf & sand boarding
- 15 minute drive to Lagoa da Conceição - Shops, bars, restaurants, banks, nightlife.
- 15 minute drive to Praia Mocambique - Surfers haven and untouched nature.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
-- Check in 2:00pm-10pm/Check out 11:00am. I am flexible with check-in times if the chalet is available in the morning. If you need to arrive earlier i can store your luggage until check-in.

-- There are no shops on the mountain, only in town - 10 minutes walking. I do recommend guests bring along any personal supplies needed such as snacks, drinks and filtered water if you do not feel comfortable drinking local tap water.

-- from time to time you might be disturbed by mosquito and other insects (we are in the rain forest after all!). I provide to guests repellent products to reduce as much as possible these nuisances.

-- There is no car parking or car access on the mountain. There are several parking lots, both public/free or private/payable, located in town centre (10 minute walk). The private carparks cost approximately R$10-R$20 daily

-- Guests receive one key. You are required to pay a R$20 fee if key is lost or damaged.

-- Barra Da Lagoa does not have any ATM cash points. I recommend arriving with cash or you will need to go to Lagoa de Conceiçao to withdraw cash.

--Travel times are much longer in high season (December - March) due to the influx of travellers. The population triples in summer.

-- The property is not fenced in, you can expect visits from neighbourhood cats and dogs, don't feel threatened. The neighbourhood community and their pets are friendly and nice.
