Le logement
Thank you for viewing our apartment!

This 2BR apartment is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of a 3-unit townhouse that was built in the 1880's and located in historic Soulard. We purchased this building in December, 2017 and immediately began a full renovation that was completed in December, 2019.

This apartment is located on a quiet street in the "residential" part of Soulard. It is only blocks away from the Soulard Farmers Market and Anheuser-Busch Brewery and the many restaurants, bars and live music that Soulard has to offer. It is also a short bar shuttle or shared services ride to Busch Stadium, and minutes to downtown and the Arch, Forest Park and numerous other cultural and entertainment attractions.

Upon arrival, we will be more than happy to personally check you in or, if you prefer, we can program your phone number into the door lockset so you can check-in at your timing and convenience. You will be welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine and snacks, and an entertainment guidebook to help with planning your activities while in St. Louis.

The 1st floor contains the living room, dining and kitchen areas and the 2nd floor contains the sleeping and laundry areas. There is a 1/2 bath on the 1st floor and a full bath on the 2nd floor.

The apartment has a brand new kitchen, which includes maple cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. There is a porch (with seating for 2-4) directly off the 1st floor kitchen and another porch (with seating for 2-4) directly off the 2nd floor master bedroom. The living area has a large, flat screen TV (with ROKU and SlingTV). There is WiFi throughout the apartment and a workstation area with a networked, color printer for any copying/printing needs.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed (with a memory foam mattress), flat screen TV (with Sling TV) and a large closet for your storage needs. The second bedroom also has a very comfortable queen-sized bed (with a memory foam mattress) and a large closet. Both bedrooms are directly adjacent to the full sized bathroom. Laundry facilities (complimentary) are also located on the 2nd floor, should you need them.

This property is exclusively used and rented for short-term stays. We live only two blocks away so if there is anything you should need during your stay, or anything we can do to improve our offering, please let us know.

Autres remarques
There is also free on-street parking directly in front of the townhouse. If guests choose to park on the street, please be aware that the City of St. Louis does street cleaning on the 2nd Monday of the month (on the east side - the side closest to the townhouse) and street cleaning on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (on the west side), between the hours of 8:30am - 12:00pm. Any car(s) parked on the street during those times will be ticketed so please be aware of those dates/times during your stay.

St. Louis, Missouri, États-Unis

The Soulard neighborhood is a culturally, economically and lifestyle diverse community located less than two miles south of downtown St. Louis. The area is named after Antoine Pierre Soulard, a pioneer Frenchman, who first came to the area in the late 1790's, as a surveyor for the King of Spain.

Soulard is one of the oldest neighborhoods in St. Louis, with original housing stock dating from the mid-1800's, and exhibiting a broad range of architectural styles. The neighborhood's landmark, the Soulard Farmers Market, was established in 1779 and is the oldest farmers market west of the Mississippi river. The historic streets of Soulard are lined with red brick townhomes, many originally built by and for newly-arriving immigrants from Germany and Bohemia, to work in the area's numerous breweries. Most of those structures have been restored, renovated and rehabbed, and many have been converted into music clubs, shops and restaurants, many of which offer outdoor dining in elaborate courtyards. The historic churches of Soulard, also built by St. Louis’ immigrant communities, welcome visitors throughout the year.

The neighborhood was granted federal historic district designation in 1972 and is the largest historic district in St. Louis.

Soulard acknowledges it's French heritage each year with a Mardi Gras fête in February/March, with multiple celebrations, Cajun cook-offs, parades and other events. Revelers also flock to the neighborhood throughout the year for various festivals, fairs and post sporting-event entertainment.

Today, Soulard is one of the largest and most lively entertainment districts in St. Louis. With it's large selection of restaurants, bars and live music venues, and it's close proximity to downtown, sporting events, the Anheuser-Busch brewery, and many other cultural attractions, it is a favorite destination for many out of town guests.

My wife Linda and I live in St. Louis, MO and are hoping to start doing much more traveling than time would allow us in the past. I've heard nothing but great things about airbnb from many friends and decided it was time to take the plunge! I'm a retired beer industry retail consultant (and what a fun industry it was!) and my wife is a retired teacher. I'm currently a retail management consultant and my wife does part-time teaching (Art), tutoring and paints in our studio. We spent our first 10 years of marriage rehabbing a 130 year old house in one of the oldest historic districts in St. Louis ... and have been enjoying it ever since. I'm an avid photographer who loves to dabble in black and white film (with full darkroom processing, etc). Also enjoy cycling, music, gardening and not working the 60 - 70 hour/week grind. My wife and I have also recently posted a listing on this site and hope to share the fun that we've been able to enjoy ... by hosting others at our recently renovated 1 bedroom apartment on Cherokee Street, in a very hipster part of St. Louis. Please come and visit us and greetings to all!
