All on the one level this well proportioned, cosy cottage provides a special spot for a romantic, countryside escape. Methera is a comfortable, luxurious cottage, which has been furnished and decorated to a high standard. SKY TV with full package and WIFI complete the package.
Set in an amazing location high up on Lowick Common with uninterrupted views out to the Coniston mountains. Coal Yeat is an old farm and Methera is the last of the outbuildings to be converted into holiday accommodation. All individually designed and all having their own unique styling.
The highlight is the breathtaking outlook over the much loved Lakeland fells and the peaceful setting. Local Amienties: We are situated on the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park in pure isolation betwixt the festival town of Ulverston and the village of Lowick within the Crake valley. Less than three miles in one direction finds all the amenities of the popular market town of Ulverston with its wide choice of eclectic shops, inns and restaurants, a championship golf course, sports centre with swimming pool and gym. Two miles the other finds the Crake Valley winding from the foot of Coniston Water through Lowick with it‘s 14th century coaching inn, old Lakeland working bobbin villages, fertile fields and woodland until it reaches the shores of Morecambe bay and Greenodd. Greenodd is also a popular village with thriving cafe, butchers, bakers, wine merchant, ice cream parlor and post office. ***January to March, Discounts available, please ask.*** It is an easy walk from the train and bus station to our ground floor flat.You will have sole occupancy. It's tucked away in a secluded sunny spot, yet moments away from the vibrant cafe culture that is Windermere. Warm and clean we aim to make you feel welcome.
In a small purpose built block the flat has been refurbished recently and decorated to a high standard. It has one bedroom, guests have the entire flat for their use. There is a shared lawn area, enclosed by hedge and walls. There is an allocated space in the car-park. In the distance, the Coniston fells are an inspiring view, but its just as convenient to walk from the door. Lots of choices, including the lake shore , Orrest Head view point, much loved by Alfred Wainwright, the beech trees of Sheriffs Wood or the unspoilt School Knott tarn.
The mainline train station at Kendal town is called Oxenholme, Lake district. From there a local train service runs into Windermere. The popular cafe culture in Windermere contributes to a vibrant village. Booths is our local supermarket where you will find regional products. A Co-Op and Sainsburys are on the main streets. We are proud of the beautiful scenery, and if you don't want to drive, you will find lots of other means to explore. Walks from the door step take you uphill to small tarns, view points or down through woodland, past pretty streams to the lakes shore. Increasing numbers of accessible paths open up access to people of a fitness and abilities "Wild" and lake swimming is increasingly popular, you may even be joined by an otter! There are many historic houses and sites to visit locally reflecting the poets, craftspeople and artists who have lived here. Even if it rains, you will still find lots to do. The local cinema has a Wurlitzer organ and regular recitals. Visiting orchestras host concerts over summer. There are lots of activities throughout the year. We try to keep an up to date guide available. A new and very successful initiative last year was the winter German market. Our Christmas lights are strung between the streets, Father Christmas arrives by train in December, and local groups arrange regular events through the year. Windermere is well served by Churches. There is a Quaker meeting , and farther afield a Buddhist center, at both of which, people of all, or no faith are welcome.

L'endroit est exactement comme décrit et fait pour un séjour confortable pendant que nous explorions la région. Windermere est une petite ville magnifique, nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps! Certainement recommander le numéro 4 comme un merveilleux endroit où séjourner!

  • Super endroit où séjourner - superbe emplacement avec beaucoup de restaurants, pubs et magasins locaux à distance de marche. Environ 20 minutes à pied de Bowness et de nombreuses promenades à proximité. Fiona et Dave étaient des hôtes charmants et rapide à répondre. Nous a fait sentir les bienvenus.   • Ma femme et moi avons séjourné pendant le week-end de Noël jusqu'au lendemain de boxe. Fiona a un hôte était incroyable à partir de directions à l'appartement, l'introduction de l'appartement a été faite très facile et confortable. Venir à l'appartement, il a tous les équipements modernes et se sentait comme à la maison. Nous avions l'habitude de cuisiner à part entière pendant notre séjour et nous n'avons pas l'impression qu'il y avait quelque chose qui manquait. La salle de bain était propre et ordonnée, la chambre était confortable et romantique. Sur l'emplacement qui est la meilleure partie où Windermere est situé parmi les attractions du district du lac et par conséquent, il est suggéré de faire le numéro 4 comme base pour visiter le district du lac. A proximité il y a de nombreux magasins, y compris Sainburys, Coopérative et une station de carburant. Dans l'ensemble, si je visite le district du lac, je préfère rester dans cet endroit une fois de plus.

  • Sensationnel. Cet endroit a dépassé nos attentes pour une valeur incroyable. Pour quiconque vient à Windermere en train, le chalet est idéalement situé à environ 500 mètres en bas de la colline. Il est si calme et paisible mais seulement à moins de 100 mètres de bons restaurants et cafés. Nous souhaitons que nous avions plus de cela. Deux jours pour profiter du chalet et de l'environnement. Il était humide quand nous sommes arrivés, donc Fiona est gracieusement venu nous chercher. Elle nous a donné d'excellents conseils et nous avons passé une journée agréable sur une croisière sur le lac et à pied à Ambleside. Le chalet est joliment aménagé avec tout ce que vous pourriez vouloir pour y inclure des bâtons de marche! Parfait pour un couple. Nous n'aurions aucune hésitation à rester à nouveau si nous revenons au Lake District

L'emplacement était idéal pour aller faire un tour sur les lacs tout en étant à proximité de Barrow-in-Furness, ce qui facilitait les sorties pour le thé. L'appartement est très élégant avec des équipements modernes, il m'a donné quelques idées à mon propre endroit. J'y retournerais volontiers.

    Lakes Boathouse is situated literally on the west shore of Lake Windermere within the grounds and gardens of Fellborough Cottage and is surrounded by idyllic countryside.     The Apartment is set on the ground floor so is great for families or people with mobility problems. It is a 2 bedroom apartment with a king-sized oak framed bed in the master bedroom - ample storage space and large sash windows. The second bedroom has bunk beds and there is a travel cot guests can use and a high chair.
    Ulverston is a lovely market town - it's a hidden gem - perfect for accessing and exploring the Lake District but without the crowds! Home to the Laurel & Hardy museum, and the Hoad Monument ( a 5 minute walk to the bottom of Hoad Hill From the apartment) Ulverston is a town which loves festivals - there is always something in the calender. It's full of lovely restaurants/ cafes and boutique shops.
