“Blackpool Tower is one of the most famous and easily recognised landmarks in the UK. It’s visible from so far away, giving drivers along the motorway the reassurance that they are firmly in the North. But it’s not just a glorious sight to see as you approach the iconic seaside town, it’s also a tourist attraction that brings thousands of visitors a year to the seaside town. There’s so much to do there that you can spend an entire day inside and not be bored for one minute.”

Parc
“Spanning 260 acres and winner of the 2017 Fields in Trust UK's Best Park, as voted by YOU! award, having topped the public vote. The park's largest gardens feature a fountain built with Italian marble and a number of statues including a pair of Medici Lions. The Italian gardens are overlooked by a cafe, designed by Mawson and built in a traditional Art Deco style, and include steps down to the boating lake. Surrounding the boating lake is a woodland area, including a protected area for wildlife. On one side of the lake is an amphitheatre surrounding a bandstand, also designed by Mawson.”

Performing Arts Venue
“Opened in 1878, the Winter Gardens has entertained hordes of crowds in Blackpool in its collection of theatres, ballrooms, exhibition halls and public spaces. One of the UK’s biggest theatres, the Winter Gardens Opera House, has seen a cast of thousands tread its boards since it first opened in 1939. With almost a 3,000 seat capacity, the splendour of the venue oozes sophistication and character as it boasts unforgettable performances year after year. Hollywood stars such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Bob Hope have all graced the Opera House stage, and more recently, the likes of Little Mix, Bob Dylan, Peter Kay and One Direction have performed to sell-out audiences here.”

Point of Interest
“The trams rum from squires gate all the way up past cleveleys and its a great way to travel. ITs especially fun during the illuminations when many trams are lit up as trains or boats. The illuminations are fun but prepare to sit in a lot of traffic. One way to experience them is to book in to the very smart and retro ‘White Tower’ restaurant at the pleasure beach. Delicious food and great views. ”

Theme Park
“This is one of our favourite days out. It’s so well maintained and Nickelodeon Land is perfect for under 7s - there' also quite a few good rides that little ones can do in the main park. You can either buy a wristband (full price £30) or pay £6 for entry into the park and then buy tickets (childrens rides usually from £3, up to £9/10 for the most popular rides). Wristbands are far cheaper if booked in advance. 10 days in advance is usually the cheapest option but even booking the night before you can save yourself £8 per wristband. The Hot Ice show at the Pleasure beach has excellent reviews. And we love the pizza restaurant. More info on the Pleasure Beach in our guest book at the flat. ”
