“ Rich in history, this park provides recreational offerings that engage visitors and help connect them with farming practices that formed its unique pastoral landscape. This 1,860-acre park has scenic views, woodlands and the rolling pastures of a historic farm that captures the colonial through modern life of the Crooked Run Valley. Nature and history programs are offered year-round. Hiking, picnicking, fishing and primitive hike-in camping for families and groups are favorite activities in this peaceful getaway on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The park has 10.5 miles of bridle trails, 22 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of bike trails and Appalachian Trail access.”

“This lovely and easily accessible park in Downtown Culpeper offers a level, paved one-mile walking trail and a more adventurous nature trail. The walking trail is lined with markers containing information about Culpeper's history, while the nature trail passes a monument dedicated to the Culpeper Minutemen. Parents can unwind and relax as their children use the kid-friendly play areas, shoot some hoops, or play volleyball or tennis. Skateboarders will enjoy the modular ramps at the Skate Park Facility, recently renovated in 2013, including a 6ft mini, huge pyramid with ledges, banks, quarters, and 2 rails. It also has a spine and flybox! ”

“Open to the public for lavender picking in June and early July. They have various lavender shop hours outside the season. Be amazed with over 50 different lavender products...most of which are made right on the farm. Its definitely a beautiful farm day you will remember all year. Make sure to try the lavender infused lemonade, ice cream or cookies. Take time to make a lavender sachet, wreath or just watch everyone else from the shaded area on the porch”
