“Grayshott is surrounded by lots of National Trust land, heathland and commons, of which the Punchbowl is unique. Whether you enjoy long walks, or short gentle ambles, the Punchbowl has a walk for you. It has spectacular long distance views over the 'crater'. On a good day Canary Wharf in London catch your eye in the distance and the lights from the flights coming into Gatwick twinkle. There is a great National Trust café which serves anything from tea and a cake to something more substantial. Alternatively, take a picnic to eat at one of the benches. A favourite of many is to buy Fish and Chips from the local 'chippie' then eat them at the Punchbowl. It is a must visit for groups, individuals, young and old as well as super fun for doggies.”

“In my opinion, the best supermarket to shop for good, fresh food - It is easy to park in the car park adjacent to Waitrose in Godalming and if you have time it is nice to stroll up through Godalming's old streets - lovely place to stop for a 'cup of tea!”

“The Refectory a fascinating building seemingly built from architectural salvage, a legacy of its time under the ownership of a family of renowned antique dealers. The Refectory was originally a cattle barn belonging to Milford House, which is the enormous house to the right of the building as you look at it. Aliments
“A farm shop that includes a large selection of cheeses, wholesale market garden produce and salad crops, a delicatessen selling hand made pies, scotch eggs and home cooked hams. It also has an olive bar and a comprehensive range of cooking ingredients. In addition to the farm shop there is an on site Tea Room (Eliza's) selling home made soups, savouries and cakes, a butcher and ethical clothing store. On the 3rd Sunday of each month they host the Surrey Farmers Market giving new artisan producers a chance to sell their products.”

“"....This popular old roadside inn oozes bonhomie. And, though the food is the driving force, the small bar heaves with upmarket locals in for a pint of Adnams Broadside or a glass of pinot noir. Smart and cosy it is, with its gorgeous black wood ceiling beams, striking wall timbers and warming winter fires; and service is both friendly and upbeat. Chefs lengthy repertoire should please all, with its classic and modern dishes, and seafood a speciality. Blackboard specials complement a main menu that covers all. A front terrace, a big back garden and a private dining room upstairs complete the happy picture...."”
