“Learn about the natural history of Santa Cruz and what created this paradise by the sea. Learn how and why the Monterey Bay depends on our sea otter population to stay alive or what a Thule reed is with a visit to the SC Museum of Natural History! Visit the life size model of a Blue Whale, great for kids!”

Science Museum
“The museum feels like a "step-back" in time. Be sure to take your children to see what museums were like in the last century. They will discover all about the local bird and fish population. Very friendly curators are very helpful. ”

Vues pittoresques

Pier
“Generally good food there. Aquarium on Cannery Row is a must-see; Cannery Row is fun but touristy, has a few outlets. Monterey Presidio for history; Point Lobos (get there early on weekends for parking); Moss Landing, 30 minutes north on Hwy. 1 has whale watching and kayaking to see the lagoon's wildlife; a few miles south on Hwy. 1 are huge beaches and 40 minutes south is Big Sur, where the continent meets the Pacific, land of towering redwoods and dangerous high craggy cliffs. Drive very carefully!”
