Waterfall
“About one kilometer outside town the trail to the bottom waterfall starts. It’s a 20 minute hike along the river, sometimes a bit slippery. It’s a beautiful spot to relax and go for a swim. There is also a trail leading up to the other two waterfalls, it’s quite steep and can be slippery. The alternative to access the upper falls is from a trail that starts next to the Butterfly garden uphill. This trail is private and they charge 1,000 colones for access.”

In a tropical paradise environment visitors can see many of Costa Rica's animals in the wild. Curu is privately owned and part of a large farm which combines sustainable agriculture and forest management with the protection of wildlife and nature. The Curu river is a magnet for many animals Of the 1,496 hectare property only 5 % (84 hectares) are protected under the terms of a "wildlife reserve".
