Restaurant
“Embers is owned by 2 sisters of Italian descent. The food is wholesome, tasty, and the serves are HUGE. Make sure you try the 3 cheese garlic bread with balsamic reduction. The service also deserves a special mention - the waiters are attentive and super friendly. They are always pretty much fully booked, but if you go early you may be able to get a table. Failing that, they have a take away downstairs, and much of the food on the menu you can also get at their Pizzeria, although their wood fired pizzas are great to takeaway and eat at the top of the Zig Zags enjoying the sun as it sinks behind the city at sunset. Warning: You could fall into a blissful food coma after an Embers experience.”

“A combination of passion, innovation and skill in our kitchen helps to create a unique and different way to prepare and present food to our diners. The atmosphere and charm of recycled jarrah, corrugated tin, and enormous Woolamalloo wharfing beams add a further element, which delivers a warm and interactive dining experience with a priceless view.”

“Aye, aye, aye, aye....visit Audrey and Jim in their cellar door perched above the vineyard with sweeping views down the valley. Audrey will be found singing and making delicious delights in the kitchen, while Jim will be standing quietly behind the counter enlightening you about the best wine to have with Audrey's delectables. Go for brunch, lunch, or just for coffee and cake. The view is worth it. Oh, and so are your hosts, and the winery dog. Caution, the driveway is pretty steep. Park on the road if you are not a confident driver. ”

Cafe
“In the heart of South-Eastern Perth parkland, comfortably nestled among the trees in sleepy suburbia, is Orchard Espresso on Jarrah Road. Rustic chic abounds, with spray-stencilled planks hanging from the walls and tables finished in weathered, jade-coloured paint, while experienced baristas hover over artful cups of expertly roasted Crema Coffee. House-made options from a seasonal menu present themselves as clever fusion twists that surprise the tastebuds, leaning either healthy or sweet but all thoughtfully sourced with local suppliers in mind. Explore fresh options like a Middle Eastern inspired filo roll, with rice, apricot, almonds, Ras el Hanout and coriander, or pick up a dainty treat”
