“If you like Thai & Asian cuisine, check out Noodlehead! It's BYOB (and cash only), and the pad thai is some of the best in the city. Cool vibe and fun to visit as a group. Watch out, though - order spice level 1 unless you *really* like spicy food. Even level 2 can be too much. ”

University
“Just kidding. Pitt's the worst and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! (No doubt they are an excellent academic institution but they can't hold Penn State's socks when it comes to sports!)”

“If yinz don't go here, everyone you tell about your trip to Pittsburgh will ask you if you had a Primanti Bros sandwich and if you say no, they are going to wonder why they are even friends with you. Believe me when I say you shouldn't need to eat for the rest of the day, but it's just one of those things you gotta try once! Or you could not - and say you DID. I think this is the original location, but don't quote me on that. There are several others as well if you want to try squeezing it into your existing plans elsewhere.”

“This tower on the University of Pittsburgh campus has interesting 'Nationality' rooms, and a great view from the top. It is near the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, and of course, Pitt and Carnegie Mellon Universities in Oakland. ”

Parc
“Frick Park is the largest municipal park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, covering 644 acres. It is one of Pittsburgh's four historic large parks. Known as Pittsburgh’s woodland park for its extensive trails throughout steep valleys and wooded slopes, Frick Park is an ideal escape from the noise of the city. Birding enthusiasts love to visit Clayton Hill, where well over 100 species of birds have been recorded. Children flock to the famous Blue Slide Playground and learn about nature at the Frick Environmental Center. The park also features red clay tennis courts, baseball fields, and the only public lawn bowling green in Pennsylvania.”

“8-minute drive. Lawrenceville. 19th century church converted into a microbrewery and restaurant, perhaps the first such venture in this area. Beer brewed on the former altar. Big place, varied menu, a fun place for a special occasion. Nice courtyard.”

Indie Movie Theater
“83-seat single screen theater in a historic row house in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Each week they choose a theme and show movies to match. They serve locally made concessions and their famous all-natural popcorn, and have a huge selection of beer available on tap in the concession stand or in the adjoining bottle shop (Bierport).”
