Quartier
“Mount Washington has the best views of Pittsburgh, great restaurant and bar scene, hiking and all the conveniences of a neighborhood. If you're okay with hills this area is very walkable, especially along Grandview Ave which runs along the Monongahela River and offers some the best urban views in the US. For restaurants and nightlife head to Shiloh St. We recommend The Summit for delicious cocktails and small plates. If you're looking for fried zucchini and wings Redbeard's and Bingham Tavern are great. And for those looking for a *very* Pittsburgh experience, Sloppy Joe's has a great bar scene.”

Among its attractions are the Buhl Planetarium (which features the latest in digital projection technology), the Rangos Omnimax Theater (promoted as "the biggest screen in Pittsburgh"), SportsWorks, the Miniature Railroad & Village, the USS Requin (a World War II submarine) and Roboworld, touted as "the world's largest permanent robotics exhibition." “If you like Thai & Asian cuisine, check out Noodlehead! It's BYOB (and cash only), and the pad thai is some of the best in the city. Cool vibe and fun to visit as a group. Watch out, though - order spice level 1 unless you *really* like spicy food. Even level 2 can be too much. ”

“If yinz don't go here, everyone you tell about your trip to Pittsburgh will ask you if you had a Primanti Bros sandwich and if you say no, they are going to wonder why they are even friends with you. Believe me when I say you shouldn't need to eat for the rest of the day, but it's just one of those things you gotta try once! Or you could not - and say you DID. I think this is the original location, but don't quote me on that. There are several others as well if you want to try squeezing it into your existing plans elsewhere.”
