Zoo
“The Emperor Valley Zoo, 7 minutes drive away from Petrea, covers 7.2 acres of dedicated lands. It is the biggest zoo in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located North of the Queen's Park Savannah and West of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain. The zoo was first opened in 1952 by Governor Sir Hubert Rance. The zoo has an animal collection of over 200 species which include both local and foreign animals: lions, ocelots, parrots, macaws, snakes, caiman, wildfowl, giraffes, white and ginger Bengal tigers with cubs successfully bred in the zoo, llamas and more. The categories include small mammals, large cats, a reptile house, aquariums, a deer park, primates and ponds. The zoo was named after the large, blue Emperor or Morpho butterfly which once frequented the valley in which the zoo is situated. www.facebook.com/EmperorValleyZoo/”

Bar
“Let's just say, space is so limited there during the peak liming hours, folks resort to the pavement. Some pull up with their pick-up trucks for additional seating. This bar has been one of a few fixtures in Woodbrook from time originally a food spot only. It's a cool spot if you don't mind the crowd. I usually go earlier.”

“It’s Friday night. Or maybe it’s Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or any other night of the week. And you’re bored! Now, we Trinidadians take boredom very seriously. We have a reputation to maintain as the social mecca of the Caribbean – “liming country”, if you will! And the Great News is the Avenue is only Half block away from the property! ”
