Split : parcs et nature

Les meilleures recommandations des habitants en matière de sites naturels

Mountain
“Marjan, the hill that overlooks the city has always been the most impressive part of Split imagery. Such a harmony betwwen natural and urban is rarely found; on one side the densely populated city in all of its glory and on the other a peninsula of almost pristine nature. Marjan offers to its visitors peace and tranquility, recreation and entertainment with natural pathways and trim-trails. Marjan is the place from which Split can be seen in all its glory, but you can also experience entirely different side of this densely populated and tourism oriented city.”

Scenic Lookout
“The bell tower of the Cathedral (57m) is the most original Dalmatian Medieval architecture started in the 13th century. The bell tower was thoroughly reconstructed and somewhat altered at the turn of the 20th century. Definitely climb the steps all the way to the top of the bell tower (for a small fee) where a spectacular view of the entire Split awaits you!”

“Znjan is located in eastern part of Split and it is easily accessible by car - it has a big parking lot which makes Znjan perfect for bigger families. There is a couple of open beach bars, and a mini-park for children with trampolines and bouncy castles. You can get there from the city centre by lines 8 or 15. ”

“Bene – city’s beloved beach with a pine forest in the middle of the Marjan hill. You’ll find a tennis and football court there, also a restaurant/bar. Considering the beach is a bit far from the center the best way to approach it is to rent a bike, or go by bus.”

“Marjan Forest Park covers the westernmost tip of Split Peninsula. It is a green oasis, which has been cherished by the citizens of Split for generations and is considered the ‘lungs of the city.’ It covers a vast area, the size of New York’s Central Park and offers a myriad of activities and sites. There are countless paths what wend through the forests and along the coast, revealing a well-tendered landscape, jagged beaches, vista points, ancient chapels, and even a zoo.”

“Matejuška has been for centuries a port for small boats owned by fishermen of Split, the residents of Veli Varoš set sail from there out to the sea to feed their families. Even today there are dozens of boats tied up there, their nets drying , bait being prepared, with a monument dedicated to fishermen biding them farewell as they sail out to sea - a big fish hook.”
