“I love buying fresh fruit and veg at the market, and this one is easy walking distance for me, and close enough to other shops (Tesco, Sainsbury's market, Rippon Cheese and a fab Italian grocery shop) to pick up anything else my cooking session requires. There's a great fruit and veg stall selling a huge variety of in season fruit and veg. And not just your bog standard stuff like iceberg lettuce. He's got lambs lettuce, rocket and spinach too! He'll tell you if the fruit is ready to eat or needs ripening so you don't waste your money. I managed to get a huuuuuge mango and i haven't seen any in my local supermarket. I did quite a geeky thing the other day and compared his prices to Tesco's and he came up slightly cheaper on all products! But there's not just fruit and veg at this market, oh no! There's not one but 2 fresh seafood stalls! And permanent businesses on the street include a butchers and bakers. There's also a few stalls doing takeaway food, including curry. Mmmm... an all round winner.”
